Royal GIII 804 double dropping cans in certain columns

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone...I'm new to the vending world and was hoping for some assistance in getting my Royal Vending GIII 804 stack machine working properly.  The unit has 9 selections with 12 columns.  I have the first three columns set to dispense 16 oz water bottles from selection 1.  The rest of the columns are set for double stacked 12 oz soda cans...mostly coke products.  I've set all the rods and shims properly, and programed columns 4 through 12 for 2 cans.

Here's the problem.  Columns 4, 5 and 6 vend 2 soda cans each time those selections are chosen.  All the other columns are working great...so I can't figure out what is wrong.  The chain looks to be moving good....and all the rabits are in place and seem to go back to the home position fine.  But for whatever reason, when columns 4,5 or 6 are used, the rabit will drop the beverage...go back to the home position...then go back and drop a second beverage before returning to home for a final time.   The machine has given me the following error codes: hs (home sensor), Ec (encoder error), rE (rabbit error).  Should I replace the chain and the encoder?

Another problem with the machine is it is producing a lot of condensation in the drip pan.  It completely fills the drip pan in a week...which is a problem because the machine is inside a building.  The unit seems to get cold enough...36 degrees...but it produces a lot of condensation.  What could be wrong?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

If you're certain that you have the can columns set up for "small package" vending then the next step is to go into the programming and set the depth for those same columns to 2 deep.  If they are set for 1 deep then the machine assumes you have a tall product that requires the rabbit to pull twice on that column to drop the tall product.  Conversely, make sure that any tall product columns are set for 1 deep vending in the SDep program item.

Your condensation issue is likely related to an air leak into the cabinet so check for the door not being tight when you snug it down (the T-handle might be skipping as you tighten it making the door not tight) or a damaged inner door gasket, especially on the bottom edge.

The Royal GIII machines do not use shims - if you have some in there that may be part of your problem.  Sounds like 4.5 and 6 didn't set to two deep

Thanks for the advice.  It turns out that I programmed the column depth wrong.  I assumed that I had to program the depth by column rather than selection.  I had the first three selections programed to 1 depth when I should have only had the first column programmed to 1 depth.  It's vending perfect now.

As for the condensation...that is still an issue.  I cleaned the gasket and it seems to be in great shape.  I also have a new t-handle on the machine and it makes the door nice and snug.  Anything else that could be causing excessive condensation???
