Antique Show- What are they?

Recommended Posts

So, while perusing Craigslist in search of more snack machines, I ran across a curious ad showing THESE machines.

I know they're old, and I've no interest in buying them, but I am curious what they are. I've never heard of "Fawn Sales" and I've never seen machines like these before. In short, I'm curious as to what they are, and roughly when they might have been manufactured, if anyone knows. Thanks in advance for any info!

The one on the left is a Vendo Visi-Vend rebranded by Fawn and the one on the right is a pull knob hot food machine that was probably built by Fawn.  I find it interesting that the seller tries to make someone believe that there is a market for parts for those dinosaurs.

Fawn Sales is one of many arms of the Wittern Group (USI) that sells direct to mom and pop vendors who then finance the machines for "just a few can sales or candy bar sales each month" to make the payments.

I've used these machine before, remember them being in local hospitals. Also don't know what the bottom one is. but the top one was for cold food, like sandwiches. It would spin, and you would open up the window, and take the item out.

From a little research, The Wittern Group now owns Fawn. I didn't actually find anything about them buying it, but they are an older company than Fawn, but they also have the exact same address as listed on the Fawn machines. I also found out they own vending.com, and evending.com. (The first one kept redirecting me to Google.)

Wittern Group did contact me about advertising about 4 months ago, but they haven't responded since.

I have half a mind to contact the seller and ask for some photos of the "guts" of these things. If they are as old as I think they are, there might be some rather interesting engineering in there. Thanks for all the responses everyone!
