roseowner
I'm a newbie and have read many helpful threads here. What I'm finding is most vendors order parts and repairs their own machines easily. I have not purchased my first machine, but I'm considering a route I found on craigslist. I was wondering are there professional companies that I can hire in the Maryland area to repair my machines if needed. I'm a beginner and do not know much about swapping refrigeration decks etc and I do not know what needs to be fixed/serviced on the machines on regular basis. Does anyone know how much they charge to service machines. I didn't want this lack of knowledge to keep me from starting. I want to get one soda machine to start and will stick with them for a while. I'm also curious if there are mommies in this business? Thanks.
Amigo
Find a distributor in your area such as Benson and ask if they do onsite repairs and the costs.
Walta
The service you are looking for is out there it is a matter of finding them. How that person values there time, and if you are able to get locations that generate enough revenue pay for product, machines, insurance, taxes, fuel, and vehicle maintenance and your time plus a service man for every little thing will be tuff job. I offer this service and it is a thin market. My customers must be large enough to afford my service, busy enough to need my service and small enough that a full time service man does not make since. Find the local vending distributor get to know the sales and parts guys. They will know who is offering this service locally Walta
Chkoolaid1
Walta's advice about finding a distributor and asking about a local guy is what I did and it worked for me. Was referred to a guy who knows his stuff but it's not cheap. He charges a base of $50 an hour. I use him after I've exhausted all my other options. Most of the time the members here can walk you through things. You can pick it up pretty quick. Just using the search bar can lead you to threads that will help you fix a lot of the problems that will come up. EddieMac
I had a guy around me that charged $65.00 an hour. He showed me how to fix some things. Eventually he started getting hard to contact, then one day I couldn't get him at all. I haven't heard from him in a few years now. However, between him showing me things, this forum, and YouTube, I've been able to fix everything that I've had to ... except the coin mechs and bill validators, I send them off for repair. In time you'll learn how to do most of what needs to be done.
roseowner
Thanks for this, I will spend time on YouTube and will find a local vending distributor. This is helpful. I'm thinking the person I purchase my routes from will also offer helpful tips regarding their machines. It's also good to know I can send off some parts for repairs.
