Mr Ed
I have 2 refrigerated AMS machines that have both suddenly quit dispensing product. They accept money and credit it but then when item is selected they just give the money back. One has a normal display and the other is scrolling jibberish on the display. I am at a loss . REplaced the control board on one with another board that came from a vandalized but working machine and no difference.....any ideas?
lacanteen
Probably the vend sensors on the side of the delivery bin. Check connections, look for dirt, bugs, etc.
AZVendor
You may need to re-calibrate the vend sensors on one or both machines. The one with the scrambled display could mean the logic board is bad or, if you changed it and the display is still scrambled that machine probably needs a new display board. To re-calibrate the sensors go into the OPTIONS menu and press Option 5. This performs the re-calibration and you should have a paper and pen handy to write the numbers down that will be displayed. This can take a while so don't give up on it. The proper ranges of the readings you'll see are: Pulse 7-14, Basis 100's and PWM 375-675. Only the numbers will be displayed but they will be in this order. If any number is significantly out of range then you need to address the sensor emitter or detector itself. Check that there is still a plastic light diffuser (just a piece of florescent ceiling light diffuser) in front of the emmiter and that both sensors brackets are tight and that the harness between them is intact and connected as well as the harness to the logic board. If all is still properly installed then you probably have bad sensors. If your display boards are single line displays then you have Sensit 1 machines. Those are the least reliable and should be updated to the latest Sensit version (4, I think). This involves a new logic board, display board, sensors, sensor brackets and harnesses. If you have a two line display then you can just replace the sensors as needed. You can email me at rbepic4gatgmaildotcom if you need parts for them. Mr Ed
Thanks for the info. These are sensit 1 machines and so far i am not pleased, Will look into the upgrade .If i do upgrade are they going to be more reliable?
Walta
The most likely cause for the scrambled display is a failed harness from the board to the display. How could any engineer be so dumb as to make a wiring harness using solid not stranded wires? To fix this machine you will need to put the machine in service mode and be able to read the error codes, repair the problem and then clear the codes.
