Snack Man 2000
Just bought a supposed professionally refurbished mei 7000 coin mech on ebay. Just hooked it up and it said head doesn't match?? Never have I seen this message before on a mei. So I pressed accept and then it says low battery. I also noticed it doesn't accept dollar coins. What is the deal? Snack Man 2000
The exact wording wasn't head, but it said top module doesn't match.

AZVendor
There you go with a Flea Bay buy. Saving a buck isn't always saving a buck. The top module error probably means that someone put a module in that doesn't match the software version that's in the mech. The battery error may go away after the mech has been powered for a while. In any event, I'd say this wasn't "professionally refurbished." If you really want properly refurbished coin mechs you can get them from me. Otherwise you can keep playing the Flea Bay roulette. lacanteen
The only way to get rid of the battery error is to send it to a MEI service center. Also, there has been several firmware updates over the past few months that can only be done by an authorized service center. This will cost you $50 or so to resolve. Return the unit if you can.
