Magiccity726
I recently heard from a coca-cola employee that Coke is getting out of the vending business. I'm not talking about 3rd party vending. Has anyone heard this? What are the ramifications?
AZVendor
I don't know where you heard that from but it might only apply to a single local franchise who doesn't want to do vending any longer. I can assure you though that CCE itself is NOT leaving the vending end of things. It's one of their foremost advertising channels and a money maker for them. While they may exit third party vending in some areas I can't see them ever leaving the full service channel. What also could happen is the dropping 12 oz cans from machines because their profit margin on bottles is so much greater tha with competitive cans. Magiccity726
Thanks for the reply. I heard this from a Coke employee. Again, I am not referring to 3rd party vending. I deal with a lot of walmarts in my area. The standard in my area was $1.50 per bottle, $1.00 per can. Coke came in 2 years ago, and started charging 0.50 per can and is now in almost all walmarts. I am in Miami. Do you prefer bottles over cans?
AngryChris
Coca Cola has already taken away their "third party lease" options around here. I cannot see them doing away with stocking their own vending machines entirely but I CAN see them pulling out of everything that's not a major attraction such as a mall, theme park, etc.... Southeast Treats
Remember too that CCR in Atlanta is divesting again after years of buying up their old bottlers, so the new locals will be doing a lot of things their own way.

Cans were not selling at $1 each with a ridiculous commission, but sell like hotcakes at .50 and no commission. Some small bottlers are getting out of full line vending but continue 3rd party agreements. Cash and inventory responsibilities overwhelm the small ones. Snickers
Well they will put a machine ANYWHERE around here. They have just told us they will no longer support us with any parts,no more glass fronts and some more nonsense. Our bottler is family owned and the greed is out of hand. They are changing the way they operate twice a day over there and you have people in charge now that have zero vending knowledge.
