kennytn
My old machine has a Dixie Narco one dollar bill validator in it; I think it is a USA 15 Stacker, after it takes a few dollars the stacker goes into to an error of three led flashes and will not longer accept bills. The error code is for Vending - Credit/Empty. Can someone tell me how to clear this error or fix the problem.
PandJ
funny, I am working on rehabbing a machine with the same problem. It is oooold, mine says usa 3 stacker. The validator is DN 88x501??? (one or more digits on end smudged). I have 3 flashes which is same code "vender credit/empty" I am taking the whole thing apart to clean, if I solve this problem I will let you know. Anyone with ideas please post, you will solve two people's problems at once.

Even if you get it to work, it won't be for long.
QuikVend
I agree with mooning. Unless you like troubleshooting, repairing and losing sales, its time to upgrade. Trust me, you'll be glad you did.
PandJ
Thanks moondog, probably right, but I have to tinker a but since I am a glutton for punishment. Also kind of hate to throw good money into a machine that might have other fails soon. Got the machine cheap, refrig works, despensers work, coin changer works, just needs cleaning, new lock ... and bill validator.
PandJ
Took apart validator and stacker, cleaned and put back together. Everything looked good, could use new belts, but they were sound. Same error code "vender change/empty". I believe the problem is an error sent from the coin changer to the bill validator. Since this bill validator can't return bills once validated and stacked, it won't take the bill unless there is enough change to return. Even though I had enough quarters, still error. I added coins and made sure I had at least several of each type (dime, nickle, quarter). Then the error code went away and everything worked! Although I can hear bill motor straining and it rejects bill every few times, so will probably still take moondog and quikvend advice and upgrade. Kennytn, put coins in, make sure they fill coin mech instead of the coin drop, once you have several of each coin type in coin mech, try. Next check wire connectors for coin mech and bill validator. Good luck.
AngryChris
The credit empty error usually means that the coin mech thinks that it doesn't have enough quarters/change to give change back. The simple solution is to simply put more coins in the mech. If the coin mech is already full of coins, there could be a problem with the coin mech. Regardless, it is usually better to upgrade to a newer validator (I prefer VN 2501/2511). Those USA-15's have done great for me but I upgrade them whenever they give trouble, except for that specific error because it's usually just low on change or the coin mech has a problem. kennytn
If I upgrade to the Mars VN 2501 will I need to change the coin mechanism to a Mars?
kennytn
I have checked all the cables, connections (unplugged and re-plugged), coin mechanisms (coin dispense full and ejects), and validator (takes dollars but want vend) and all are working properly to vend. As I did all this I kept hearing a low buzz coming from a can dispense motor; further inspection revealed a can stuck in one of the rotating dispense mechanisms. And just like that I pulled the wedged can out and everything functions again on the machine. I am still going to upgrade the validator and the coin mechanism. Thanks again for all the help, never knew I would learn so much about coke machines and how they function!

You're due for an upgrade anyway so don't lose sales in the meantime
