avvending
I have a national 146 with a Maka BV that sells on average $100 per week but on my last visits two visits I found the BV stealing bills. I unplugged the BV and plugged it back in and it seemed to work. Any ideas.
lacanteen
Probably because that Maka BV is 25 years old or more. It's time for a major upgrade.
cdreed06
I have one that just recently started doing this. I posted on here about a retrofit before it messed up. I ordered a kit to change it to a Mars, I hope it fixes it.
avvending
Thank you. How much is the retrofit? Where did you get it? did that change it MDB also?
AZVendor
I can send you a retrofit kit if you need it . Nothing changes it to MDB unless you put an aftermarket logic board in the machine which is a poor investment in a machine that old (1980's). Email me at rbepic4gatgmaildotcom. I got mine from D&S vending, it is $37.95. I haven't gotten it yet. Like AZ says, it won't change it to MDB, it is just a harness and brackets to mount the MARS unit in place of the MAKA

AngryChris
Basically, the control board can either read MDB or it cannot. The stock board on a 145 cannot read MDB, so no harness will fix that. On the other hand, a Dixie Narco 501t could be single price or multiprice. If it's a 501t with an SIID board, you can get a harness for a regular 110v mech and validator or an MDB harness for MDB mech and validator. The SIID board can handle either but not both simultaneously to my knowledge.
avvending
Which mars 2511 bezel will fit the small hole on the 146?

I used a 2501 had to take the face off and use the face supplied with the retrofit kit. The mars is installed now and doing the same thing the maka did. Irritating and I am not sure what to do next. AngryChris
A 2501 and 2511 are only different in that one came out of the factory with a snack bezel/mask and the other came out with a bottle bezel. The bezels are interchangeable and a national 145 will take a mars 25x1 without the mask.
avvending
cdreed06- Let me know if you figure it out. I already ordered the conversion kit and BV. I hope it helps me. Thanks

Have you tried clearing the RAM Data. I followed the instructions in the manual to clear it and I haven't had the problem repeat yet. I/m going again today to upgrade the BV anyway since I ordered it.
lacanteen
How are your switches set on the bill unit? Most older machines need #8 on for credit line interface.
