I hadn't heard, when are they quitting? I need about $500 worth of parts :(

I called yesterday and the way I took it there pretty much done now. There selling off there remaining inventory but like I needed some brush housing's and they don't have anymore. Also the stuff I needed they said would need to come from multiple warehouses. So instead of paying for shipping once they wanted me to pay shipping multiple times.

I was surprised it wasn't posted on here before.

Bulk on its way out?

No, we're not even close. Its just shifting. NW probably didn't change with the times. They said they made their equipment to good. I think that's a small part.

Eagle is doing it right, they have a smaller more effective set up. I'm hoping oak is the same. I think there is to much equipment it there and too much imports. People fall into the cheap machine's. I hear all the time that purple bought cheap.

Imo, I think it's shifting, not quitting.

I can see the problems. It's not as large an industry as some would like to believe. I don't think the future looks bright for bulk. It's hard work and people today don't like to work hard. People are getting out and there's lots of used equipment for sale.

I don't think quality is the issue. They need a better website and better customer service. Google gumball machines and the first thing you see are the imports. Sure if you're knowledgeable in bulk you'll know not to go there but a lot of people don't know better.

Price is another problem. As someone new in the business I just can't afford to buy NW for the return I'll get.

It absolutely makes me cringe when I think about having to go to NW or Oak for parts. I know that it will be 3-4 weeks before I get my order and it will be expensive!

I don't think bulk is on its way out. There's still money to be made. And I hope not I enjoy it to much!

Which machine did you need the brush housings for?

I think it's going to hurt them big time. I would be willing to bet that a large part of their orders come from the fact that it was a one stop shop. People would pay an extra couple bucks here and there just for the ease of ordering and reduced shipping costs. Once people start looking elsewhere I think they'll realize how much they can save by buying this from supplier A and that from supplier B.

You are right, I bought some supplies from them last month for that very reason

Its changing but you need to change with it. provide the best service and have the best looking machines and you'll do alright.

Ive been doing this since about 2006 and ive only ever bought 3 new machines (rhinos) learned from that mistake pretty fast. and I have about 400 machines out.

Ive seen them come and go. work hard and stick with it and it can stay profitable.

as long as there are machines out there theyll be parts.

When people continue to buy used machines on ebay, craigslist etc it leaves these machine manufacturers no reason to continue in

making machines.  If you need parts for oak machines call oak and the same with NW.  When ever I need parts for Oak or NW I call them direct and they get them right out for me.  Stop looking around for the cheapest price you can get.

I'm in business to make money. Since I make it a quarter at a time I will continue to save as much money as I can. NW or Oak care nothing for my business otherwise they wouldn't charge me an arm and leg for shipping. Nor would they continue to charge me for extras that I didn't order. If they offered superior customer service and prompt delivery I would use them every time but they don't.

Not sure why the high shipping. They don't add anything.

I buy NW parts that I can too fit the AA stuff and pay the higher prove because it lasts longer and less service calls.

I also use oak mechs too replace any bad parts on eagle and aa body's because they fit all three and outlast them as well.  I don't like service calls because a mech is jammed or broke.

If new equipment then I buy USA because out Will outlast me.

Even used, I'll pay extra for it. To me it's long term, not short.

This post makes me think of all the dim wits that line up at the self check out kiosks at retailers and then whine because their kids cant find entry level jobs.

The US based bulk machine manufactures ( like ALL our manufacturers) have been devastated by imports. Knock off imports have ZERO R&D costs, minimal labor cost due to near slave labor wages and conditions, and willing short sighted customers. People have no one to blame but themselves for the lack of quality goods and the death of jobs.
