ROGERS VENDING
I don't know if this is the appropriate location for this post. Sorry if I've misplaced this... There's a Toy Taxi crane on craigslist in my area. I had no interest in starting out with this kind of machines, but the price makes it enticing... What do you think?? It has some mechanical problem with candy side? Anybody think it's a major problem? Is this worth it? Are cranes big money makers and easy to locate?? http://austin.craigslist.org/bfs/1008728680.html Cheers, Jesse
G-man422
Jesse, I'm looking into cranes and that is one heck of a deal. The only thing is that if it keeps jamming up then it will need to be fixed and I don't know how much that would cost (might not be worth it). But that is a great looking machine. ROGERS VENDING
G-man, should i buy it? ANybody think it can be fixed for a decent price??
Zeke
For 150.00 I would buy it. That price is too good to pass up. Fixing the play to you win option is prob. a quick fix, even if it isn't it is still worth it. No brainer in my book. Zeke

ROGERS VENDING
I think I'm going to buy thiis crane. He said the candy claw works fine for about a week then goes nuts. You have to turn it off and reprogram in order for it to work properly. This makes it work for about a week or so and then it goes nuts and you must turn it off again... He thinks it may need a new mother board or at least repairs to the mother board. The mother board, he believes, costs around $250 from the company. Anybody got any advice? Zeke
Jesse, I would buy it. It could be a bad power supply. Which are not that expensive to replace. I have had cranes that when it is an intermittent ( sometimes works , goes Haywire) It generally is a power supply issue. He might even have the wrong voltage dialed in, which could be causing problems. Zeke

nam
I've located cranes for someone else but never had any of my own. The guy I located for had a warehouse loaded with cranes that weren't working though. He had so many service issues he was going to stop running them. I checked into buying some myself and went to a shop specializing in service and repairing as well as selling used cranes. He told me that an awful lot of used cranes were not worth anything because it cost more to fix them than they were worth. He charges $150 for a service call to go to your location and about that an hour once he's there plus parts. If you have a smaller arcade and bring it into the shop you save the $150 charge for him going to the location. Cranes require alot of service from my experience and best be really careful which ones you buy. He's told me to call him with specific brand and model and he'll tell me if it's worth buying or run the other way.
ROGERS VENDING
nam, Thanks for the info. I haven't purchased the crane at this time. My truck is in the body shop getting a new grill (dude ran into me) and I've been under the weather the past few days..

ROGERS VENDING
He runs restaurants for a living. This is a crane he had in Corpus Christi. The restaurant closed and will not fit in his current location. He will not sell for less. If not sold, he will break it up and sell the parts... deee_z
What's the story on this claw machine? Did you get it?
ROGERS VENDING
No but it's still there... I found a better deal. If anybody wants a fully functional claw crane and can pick up in Austin, Texas, I may have 2 for $200 a piece!!! I don't want them right now.
