Can you add a validator to an AP 435?

My wife and I recently jumped into this biz by buying a small existing route from a couple that was retiring.

In one location we have a snack and drink downstairs in the public waiting room and another snack and drink upstairs in the employee lunchroom.  Problem is, the upstairs doesn't produce much revenue but we still need to maintain the machines to keep the account.

The upstairs snack is an AP 435 Snack Shop II that has the multiprice switched and currently only takes coins.  I'd like to add a bill validator so I can get rid of the change machine I need to maintain just for this machine.  Since it doesn't do much volume, I'd like to keep the investment as low as possible and really don't want to buy another machine.

Can anyone tell me if a bill validator CAN be added, and what it takes?  Perusing the forums leads me to believe that it is possible, but since I'm a newbie ... keep it simple!

Thanks in advance ...

Jim

A company called Lutec was making boards and harnesses for these. The kit enabled you to use a newer coin and Bill Validator. You just cut a hole in the door for the Validator. I have 10 of them all upgraded but I haven't been able to find anymore kits in the last few years.

This one was re-faced using vinyl upholstery material.

I have some multiprice kits available that will upgrade your machine from the current coin mech to a late model mech and validator.  Email me at rbepic4gatgmaildotcom and I can help you out.

Ask yourself: "How many bags of chips will I have to sell to pay for this upgrade?". That machine is 1980 or earlier. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. There are other applicable cliches, but I think you get the point.
