Fastcorp 631

The Fastcorp F631 was a good machine though the company doesn't support it with many parts now.  There are parts available elsewhere and I still have a bunch available.  The freezer, motors and cables stayed the same in the next models so those are available.  The machine is not MDB unless you update it but it works well.

You can email me if you need parts at rbepic4gatgmaildotcom.

Be very careful the profit in vending is mostly in the soda. There is money in the snack is you can move enough volume to sell the product before the sell by date. Food, coffee and ice cream are generally money losers you some time do to get or keep a good location. If this location does not sell $300.00 a week of soda and snacks just say no. If they send you packing it is no great loss as cost from this machine would turn the location negative anyway.

The F631 is no good as a food machine as the food items are heavier than the ice cream this forces you to turn up the vacuum. The extra vacuum collapses the hose vertically that takes the tension off the cable. When the cable goes slack it can come off the pulleys once the cable is will snap very soon. The F631 works well for ice cream if you keep the vacuum down.

Are you saying that I should get it for ice cream only if I can vend other items as soda?  If I only use it for ice cream will it hold up?  What costs to this machine should I anticipate if only used for ice cream?  Also you said that coffee is a loser?  Why?  I thought coffee had a huge markup?

Can this machine be a moneymaker or a money pit?  What kind of yearly costs can I expect?

Money pit. I bought one for $1200, tried it at 3 different locations and sold it for $65 seven years later. It was very dependable and only needed to have the rubber end on the suction hose replaced.

The F631 can be a fine machine if it is in good condition and you keep the product weights down.

Since few vendors will put -20°F refrigeration or dry ice on their truck, to sell ice cream the product life from supplier to machine is under 10 minutes before the wrappers thaw and when refrozen the wrappers will be attached to each other with ice so the F631 cannot separate the products.  Even if the product is undamaged it is still unvendable.

Coffees problem is most locations allow employees to operate their own brewers at their work stations, this brings down the sales volume. Each coffee machine demands 15 minutes of weekly cleaning regardless of sales volume. In most locations the low sales and high labor cost quickly turn the numbers negative.

If you are forced to offer products other than soda and snacks you need a good profits from the soda and snacks to cover the losses.

I have done both ice cream and coffee vending with good results, but only by being very careful in choosing proper locations.  Offices and workplaces in general will not support those machines; ice cream can do well in hotels that have family/vacation guests, coffee needs to be in a high traffic location such as an airport.  I have not had such good luck with food vending, but sometimes you have to offer it to get a good account.  I have the newer fastcorp models and like them but have not used the older 631's....
