Explosiveexchange
I recently got myself a D-N 501e, and I discovered an issue with the door. Normally, you're supposed to turn the handle until it gets hard to turn to ensure that the door is tightly shut and won't leak air. On this particular machine, I can keep turning as much as I want and it never gets hard to turn like that. Eventually, I have to stop turning the handle because it's been drawn so deep into the machine that handle begins to bump against the outside of the door. If I push it in to lock it at this point and take my hands off the door, the top right corner pops out an inch or two, like it wasn't being held by anything. I'm wondering what the cause is and what I can do to solve the issue. Is replacing the lock assembly the only option, or is there some sort of adjustment that can be made to make it work properly? You will see them on the the assembly holding it together. When it has been over tightened the inner clip breaks and causes the problem you are having. Home Depot carries them. allen watson
Yes. I think it's a 5/16 or 1/2". You should have 2 or 3 on the threaded shaft to match one up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

allen watson
The c clip is what keeps the handle from hitting the door. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Explosiveexchange
Hm, it looks like it's more of an E-ring than a C-ring to me. I found a manual for the lock assembly at https://www.dsvendinginc.com/pdf-manuals/dn5i.pdf that describes it as "E ring #31-5" and gives the part number 901,503,070.01 for it. Unfortunately, I can't find any information about the actual dimensions of the E ring so I can get a replacement, nor can I find somewhere to order this particular part. I might just have to look at a different machine to see what size the ones on it are.
allen watson
You are right. It is an e clip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

AZVendor
It might have a worn out T-handle that is slipping of the pin in the end of the stud.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I have one that does this at times. I keep finding the C clip laying somewhere under the handle on the inside. I just put it back on and it stays for a while. I guess it pops off if I tighten it too much.
AZVendor
It will only pop off if it's worn out so you should replace it.
