nam
I have to deliver my first two U Turns this weekend and having a small problem with vend amounts. Bought the machines used off craigslist so didn't have any manual or vend settings, etc. Researched here and found the settings needed - thanks. Love this site!!! I've been checking to make sure the vend sizes are correct but the amount vended keeps changing all the time. The first vend or two often has none or very little but then the vend counts keep varing on each quarter. Like one time it will give me lower than the minimum recommended amount and the next vend will give me higher than the maximum amount. It seems to vary alot more with the smaller candy like Skittles, M&M's, etc. . The M&M peanut will only vary maybe one or possibly two but the smaller candy can vary from 10 to 20 pieces. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong? Also one of the machines is going into a Sports Bar. Any suggestions on the best product to vend for people drinking? Jax Snacks
The pie-shaped holes in your wheel are not properly alligned. Each wheel has 3 pie-shaped holes and one of them must be directly over the opening on the bottom of the canister. Jax

reel
Nam, The settings in the manual are too generous anyways. Take the tumbler out of the canister and set it to say a 9 for MMP, hold your fingers under the hole with the 9 setting pour in some MMP turn tumbler with your other hand and let the suggested amount your going to dispense drop into a scale and from there you can decide whether the amount your going to vend is too generous or not. Kinda hard to put into words Nam but i hope you get the idea. The absolute min markup i place on the cost of goods is 400 per cent. Im not sure how you guys do it in the us?, good luck. Jax Snacks
My U-turn settings are: MMP - 7 with spring stir MI - 4 with spring stir RP - 1 (consider A or B for newer wheels) Skit - 1 (consider A or B for newer wheels) Chic Tabs - 1 Other may disagree, but I vend a higher amount of MMP to attack competitors (and tick off gumball vendors!) and a higher amount of MI to minimize the gum-ups. markvend
M&M Peanuts vend amounts will always vary somewhat due to different size peanuts. Even when everything is aligned properly you may vary 2 peanuts. Thanks, Mark
gsnwag
Mark you are correct. We have 8 u-turns all bought used at different times. They are recent models according to the sellers. As of now all of our machines vend the same on all settings. Nam we have no manual, we just studied the machines removed the tumblers and try to figure them out. At one point after a vend if I was to jiggle the coin mech candies would just fall at will. Fixed that problem. I found that once I set the setting, put the tumbler on the canister, I align one of the vend openings to the canister opening. Ever since this I had zero issues (fingers crossed). Hope this helps. Nam if you would like further PM me and I will give you my phone number. I agree it is kinda hard to explain over text. I will help in any way I can.
