aswilen
Hi. I own a dixie narco dncb 501t. The manuals online seem to say I can use it for bottles. Right now it is only loaded with cans and that's how I bought it almost two years ago. It has 8 columns (two double width) and has a depth of three cans I was wondering if someone could advise me how to use it for bottles and specifically water bottles. Thanks for the help. AZVendor
You can do 16 oz water in a narrow column with the existing can shim. Adjust the motor timing cam to show just one notch around it's edge (you can only do one bottle deep) and then bring the rear spacer forward so that with the bottle against the spacer you can get one finger down between the butt of the bottle and the depressed sold out paddle. Make sure you use a 16 or 16.9 oz bottle that is firm when it's warm or your bottles will shrivel up when they get cold and jam the column. The best and cheapest water is 16.0 oz bottles from one of the regional Nestle brands, but not any Nestle branded water itself.
Southeast Treats
With the T model, even though you can do cans 3 deep, you will only get bottles single depth. That's the big drawback, because each column will only hold 12 or 13 bottles...
aswilen
Thanks for the answers. What are some of the regional nestle brands in colorado?
aswilen
what do I need to do to set the timing cam?
AZVendor
Loosen the screw in the front cam and turn it until only one notch is showing then retighten the screw, but not too tight so you don't strip it out.

aswilen
do I need to unplug the machine to do this adjustment?
AZVendor
Nope. But just in case you trigger the motor switch you can unplug it first so it won't run the motor while you adjust the cam.
aswilen
I looked at the cam. I saw a brown plastic disk with some kind of handle or lever in it's center. I did not see a screw. Is that lever pulled outward to release it or is it pulled sideways. ?( I can post a pic if needed but I see lots of pictures like it on line so I assume it's a common thing)
AngryChris
I don't know about the screw either. What you want to do is lift the plastic disk slightly so that the little notch which is in a hole isn't preventing it from turning. Then, when you can actually SLIGHTLY turn the disk, you have to be careful to make sure you don't bend the metal switch. I usually push the metal switch out of the way slightly and lift on the cam at the same time and turn it until I get it in the right slot. The easiest way to tell which slot you want (ie. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc..) is by counting how many notches you have open. If you have 2 notches where the switch can go into, then you are set to vend 2-deep. If you have 3 notches, then you are 3-deep.
