GS2 not dispensing nickels.

I have a GS2 that won't dispense nickels. It has the programming that is unlike the national 148.  I saw that the machine read "exact change only". It wouldn't dispense nickels. After installing a different mech, the error message went away but the problem still persists. The display flickers when I try to do it through programming but no clicks or anything come out. I think it's a board issue but checking for advice first.

If you're certain that the issue isn't in the mech and those mechs work in other machines then it's the logic board in the machine that isn't sending a strong enough pulse to the mech.  Let me know if you want an exchange board sent.

The only real difference that I have seen between a Glasco GS and a National 147 is that the GS has a differently wired keypad that is specific to the GS model.  I wasn't aware that the shelf harnesses were different as well.

The GS does not have a slide out panel for the board. There are a few differences even tho the machines share a lot of the same parts. We have a few of those gs1 and 2's it would be nice to upgrade them.  It could be adapted or modified pretty easy by the manufacturer but they must not be too in demand as I'm sure they made a lot less of the glasco.

Yeah.  From what I have seen, it's designed more like a National 145 in the sense that the board is fixed there.  It's actually a pretty decent machine but doesn't clean up as nice as the Nationals because there's no real way to put a new front on it.  I think I'll just get the board repaired and keep it as is.  It's double spiral and I rarely get tray errors with the glascos vs. the nationals.  I don't know if that's a coincidence or not.

They are very reliable from our experience with them. I don't think we had a tray error but once. We just tweaked the contact a little and never experienced it again. I like them and will continue to run them and hope someday Inone or VE will see how little changes to their existing product it would take to make them.
