Machine values

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I seen an ad in Craigslist for someone selling 11 machines in a route, and 6 more in storage. I can't really identify these machines.. So I need a little help from the experts. c7e8650c612786e26b8556f4200ffd17.jpg1ed436b0a28959bdcebb3da5313c59b1.jpg5e730ef0d60a09db9a5752e43615b313.jpgHe wants $25,000.00. For the route, and says it makes $7,000.00 a month. I need to know name brands of machines, and values. Thanks Jerry.e443130bfdae55e4ce7b3f280960a32e.jpg

I'll take a stab at what the brands are.

Pic 1 looks like a FSI 3039 3-wide snack and FSI 3179 soda

Pic 2 I'm not familiar with and frozen food machines

Pic 3 Royal Vendors 804 (?)

Pic 4 USI 3151

Now I'm curious to see if I'm close.

My question is ... Is why do they have external dollar bill validators? Makes the machines a little cheesy looking IMO.

I see an older SMIII USI machine with a newer CB300 next to it.  The crappy bill changer means this seller was too cheap to repair the Maka validator in the snack, or upgrade it. The ice cream machine is a Fastcorp 631 with what looks like an AP4000 next to it. The Coke machine is a Royal 660 or equivalent and the blue soda machine is a USI CB700.

Chris is correct.  Some specific models of USI snacks don't physically allow any validator other than a Maka to be installed.  If you get these machines you can email me for a rebuilt Maka at rbepic4gatgmaildotcom.

Wait...what?!?  You still have rebuilt Makas?  I thought they were all boat anchors?

Resist the urge. While they make poor boat anchors, they are excellent trot line weights.

Believe me, I have no urge. Just surprised Randy still has some available:-)

The problem with some of the maka's is the physical mount of the validator is different from what is common today.  I was able to buy an adaptor kit (I believe from Vendors Supply, but it's been a while) to install an MEI validator.  You also need the correct conversion harness (24 v or 120 v).  There may be other issues I have not run into but that was one I was able to resolve.

He wants $25,000.00 for the route. He says it makes $7,000.00 a month. 11 machines running. 6 more in storage. I definitely will be asking for proof of income for this route. Does it look like it's worth $25,000.00?

If that turnover figure it legit, the asking price does not seem too bad. You might want to budget some cash to do some upgrades to machines or swap some out if you have spare machines. Income of $7000 per month for 11 machines is $7600 per machine per year, which I think is okay. Do he say how often he services them? Also, do you have any other ice cream machines? Are you set up for it? I don't know that I'd want to do ice cream for just one location.

If that's the income, it's a good deal. My gut feeling is that the income is heavily exaggerated.

(Me too) looking at some of the equipments pictures..I see on the one pop machine we have 2 columns out of order.the external bill validators...The asking price is actually low as compared to the supposed income. Numbers don't add up.

I don't have or know a thing about an ice cream machine.( That's usually how I roll). I'm waiting on my brother in law to get a loan..No way I'm paying for this thing on my own!

What cracks me up is the seller takes his mistake, and makes a benefit out of it,by putting in as a feature for the route!

That was my first thought when I saw the machines and the income, it didn't seem possible.

Not sure what the market for used machines is like for you up there, but I could probably find 17 machines around here for $10k at the most. I think the most I've spent on a machine is $450 for a Royal 650 live display. When I get them home, they usually just need a good cleaning and minor parts. My best 2 locations, which I landed on my own, only cost $1500 for the equipment and make about $1000/mo. combined. They aren't new or professionally refurbished, but they look nice, are clean and most importantly they're functional.
