I plan to drive about 200 miles roundtrip on Wednesday next week to purchase a 501e if everything checks out.  It is listed as an 8 selection machine and the owner states is will dispense 12oz cans or 16oz bottles.  Everything I have read about the 501e states the machine will vend up to 20oz bottles, which is what I desire.  Do you have any experience or advice if this machine will vend the 20oz Gatorade bottles?

What is a fair price if everything is in working order?

Thanks

If the machine only vends 12 oz cans and 16.9 oz bottles, and it has 8 selections, then there is about a 95% chance that this machine is a 501-T and not a 501-E.  The 501e usually has 9 selections and can vend anything from 12 oz cans to 24 oz bottles (only 1-deep though).  A 501-T can technically vend 20 oz bottles but it's a waste of time and money to set up though.

If this is a 501T, then it's worth no more than $400 in my opinion.  Personally, I wouldn't go 200 miles out of my way for a 501T.

All 501E machines were 9 selects, unless there is some odd-ball out there I've never seen.  If it's not an E-model, I wouldn't drive that far to get an older model, unless you were getting it for almost nothing.

It might be a Coke 501E which could be 8-button & cols 1 & 2 set on STS. By far the easiest way to tell is by the column set up?. A 501E has 1 wide column on the right and the rest are all narrow. A 501T has 2 wide columns on the right and 1 wide column on the left with 5 single columns in the center.
