Merlin IV menu troubles

I purchased an RVMCE650-10 Merlin IV last week.  I can get into the menu, then I can navigate up and down with buttons 1&2.  Then I can enter a sub-category by pushing button 3.  I cannot, however, get anything to save and I am unable to back out of menus.  I do understand that you have to hold the button for two or more seconds.  I tried changing switch 3 with no luck, and also tried jumpering around the switch entirely.  Switch 3 is working as evidenced by being able to push it to enter sub-categories.  My machine is does not have a PASS menu selection, so it isn't password protected, that I know of.  My trouble is I can't back out of sub-categories and can't save any changes.  

 

Am I stupid?  I can't figure this one out and I didn't find anything on the internet that sounded like my problem.  Thanks everyone!  I appreciate your time!

It is a strange issue your seem to be having. I don't believe that the Merlin IV ever used a 4 button programming but then again anything is possible. So you may want to see if button 4 will toggle your save function.

Are you having this issue with multiple menus or just one (ie: price)? Pricing changes get funky if you have a malfunctioning coin changer.

It is happening in all menus, and yes I tried every button.  Weird problem, I know.  I even tried jumping the switch again last night,  everything else appears to work fine.  It vends, cools, and all other systems seem fine.

Just making sure you have a Merlin IV: does each column have its own motor?

Yes it sure does.  6 in back, 6 in front.  I'm kinda puzzled.  All motors vend fine, also I can get to the column tests and test each one, I just can't back out of the menu once I have, which requires me to push the little blue menu button to reset the menu.
