Oasis Vending Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 On this drink machine, when I try to set my price to $1.25 it automatically changes it to $1.00. It will let me change it to $2.00 but not $1.25 or $1.50. I hit the service mode button, then 7, set price, hit 1 for regular pricing and so on. I know how to set the prices but I don't know why it is changing it to $1.00. It isn't just a single selection, I tried it on a bunch of different selections and rows even. I set everything to $2.00 and left! Any ideas? Thanks
AngryChris Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 To my knowledge, you press 7, press 1 for regular pricing, then enter the price (ie. 125 = 1.25), then you press the selections (ie. A1) then I think it's the * button to actually set the price, followed by another selection... so.... A1, *, A2, *, A3, *, etc... About the only thing that I can think of that would possibly cause your selections to go to $1.00 or $2.00 would be if your coin mech was disabled, which would force the machine to sell things for dollar figures, but I don't think that makes sense in this situation.
Oasis Vending Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 Thank you for the reply, you are right on how to set the price, the coin mech might be the issue, only letting a person set it to the next dollar amount. Maybe the coin mech was empty, I didn't even look at that! I bet that is it or something to do with giving change! Thank god for these forums! Will report back. The machine did say that it had some errors when I opened it. I need to read in the manual regarding errors. Thanks
Oasis Vending Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 On second thought, the coin mech being out of change wouldn't matter on how much change it gives back on the exact dollar! I will still look into the coin situation. Thanks
AngryChris Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Being low on coins would generally make it say "exact change only" or something along those lines, but having no coin mech connected at all may cause it to default to dollar amounts. This is pretty much only possible if the machine is not connected to the coin mech at all OR if the coin mech is connected but completely dead. It should be pretty easy to tell if the coin mech is completely disconnected lol.
Oasis Vending Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 I will check out the coin mech tmrw, this mech used to jam up all the time and not allow coin into it, I've been out of this game for awhile so I'm a little rusty, thank you for pointing out the coin Mec, I bet that's the problem
AZVendor Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Any time a controller machine defaults to dollar only pricing it's because the coin mech is not plugged in or it's faulty and the controller knows it.
