Dstyxvend
I am using a 2013 Ford E-150 cargo van to run my route. We have three types of accounts. A healthy division(including 2 healthy drink machines that take bottles), conventional division and a soda division that's mostly can with a few bottles on certain accounts. I was wondering if anyone has a way to set up my product in my van to keep it more organized and have it all easily accessible? Any tips or helpful ideas would be gratefully appreciated! Thanks in advance!
AZVendor
When I used a cargo van in the mid-eighties I built a partition at the wheel well and put all soda behind it. I then built a shelf across the front of the partition and down the side to just behind the driver seat. I put ice chests under the shelf and all bagged and packaged products on the shelves secured with bungee cords.
Southeast Treats
I still use an E150 but now I prekit, it's much easier. A good solid divider behind the seats is a must; you need protection from all that flying inventory in a crash or panic stop. I have an angled platform behind the partition where I can stack soda without it falling over. The hand truck goes in the side door and makes the passenger side wall for the soda shelf. I have shelves on the driver side wall for smaller boxes and I used stacking plastic crates to carry items broken down out of larger boxes when I didn't need (couldn't fit) an entire case on board. You might be able to put all your boxes on end in some order and have cutouts for access. Bungee cords also held about 4 boxes on the right rear wall with openings cut in the top/ends for access. A large coleman cooler with plastic bins and ice pack to carry the candy, someone on here sells a good cooler all set up for that with all the bins. Extra drinks on the floor inside the side doors (basically the cargo area rear was food and the front was drinks) and the van is FULL. For my bottle accounts I tried to estimate/prekit only what I might need that day, there was just no room for a bottle drink inventory. And now my back hurts from thinking about it all......
