MM Peanut Prices

Wow!  These MMP prices are moving like the stock market!  I just priced all six of the Orlando area stores and saw prices of $7.19, $7.85, $7.95, $8.26 and $8.79.  Daytona and Lakeland are at $9.14 and Tampa at $8.49.  Pretty crazy!  Sam must be trying get every penny it can from each market segment without upsetting the vendors and being competitive with Cosco and BJ.  I got a feeling this is going to go on for a while.

Jax,

Are you saying all those prices where at Sam's Club but different locations? And I thought they were all the same. Guess it pays to shop and compare even at the same store. Thanks for the tip.

Yes, there are 6 stores here with 5 different prices! You can check prices online by using the click and pull option for bulk candy, and then change the location. It will refresh the prices each time you change locations since it is assuming you want to buy something. I still sell a lot of bags of MMP per cycle, so price really matters to me in this case.

Well I just got home from the grocery store and they are running a special on all 21.3 oz bags of M&M products. Buy one get one so I get two bags for $4.64. That is just under .11 an oz or just over .05 a vend. I am going to stock up and be set for awhile. It's like getting a Sam's bag for $5.83.

Grats on your big score.

This could be very interesting to see how it plays out and figure out where to go for different products.

Already back (Publix is closeeeee)

They only had 16 bags left and obviously not getting anymore back at the same price after today.

So I bought all 16 bags of the PMM's. They are 21.3OZ bags, but 1 get 1 free for $4.69. So 42OZ for $4.69

Total purchase: 340.8OZ's for $40.16

Thanks beer!!!!

*EDIT* Added wrong :)

It looks like the Mars Company and Sam's are trying to find the perfect price point for M&M's. They both seem desperate to raise the price, but are getting some resistance from vendors and some competing wholesale clubs are keeping prices lower for now. Just goes to show that it's not always so simple to raise prices. If it were, they would have simply charged the $9.19 per bag and left it at that and said "take it or leave it" to the vendors. I wonder if Mars or Sam really knows what percentage of products are purchased by vendors versus individual consumers? Must be some intense negotiations between those two going on.   This looks like a good opportunity for Costco and BJ to steal some members from Sam who demand cheaper MMP.  Heck, that Publix deal could take a nice dent out of Sam's sales if enough vendors jump on it.  This price increase has forced me reconsider selling those holiday M&M's again.
