Anyone else get their machines messed with a lot? We've had three or four in which someone has stuck some object into the keyhole. Today was a toothpick.

Some kid cut out a cardboard quarter and colored it black, went right through the mech

Happens all the time. Always will.

Have you found any tricks to combat it?

Nope it just goes with the territory

At least once a week!  Use a razor knife to try and pull them out.  I keep a knife with me and use the tip to pull it out.

Straws, wrappers, toothpicks, bits of caps, washers, bits of metal wire, gum, ketchup, mustard, syrup, bits of toys, foreign coins, and my personal favorite, fake acrylic nails.

You never know what you're going to find...

All the above mentioned... plus leaves, grass, rice (Chinese restaurants) marijuana, bobby pins, I've literally seen it all in the 14 years doing this.

On  a positive note on my machines which take tokens people put dimes in. The dime just goes in and they get nothing. I make approx. 1.50 a month.

Keep a trashcan nearby if you can. Doesn't solve the issue, but it seems to help, especially with people just leaving empty capsules everywhere.
