Holy Ripoff!

Was out servicing an out of town route and saw a few honor boxes I hadn't seen before. They were labeled as Lollipop Express. Did some digging, and boy are they ridiculously expensive.

Mind you, these boxes are identical to the candy for a cause or any of the other boxes or there.

Lol I still haven't unloaded those machines out of the trunk of my car. And my wife accidentally busted a can of root beer on then and got soda all over them and the trunk!

Well, to be fair they needed a good cleaning anyway.

Presumably that doesn't include locations just a list of locators. If it included locations with a lifetime warranty maybe it make a little sense

Doesn't look like it. But they do give you free suckers with it lol

What a joke!  Hopefully folks aren't that gullible to buy these.  $100/box? SERIOUSLY!?  If I could get that for my accounts, I'd have retired already...LOL!

Well, unfortunately I've seen at least one person had fallen for it.

So I checked out the website and then researched this Drew Ross character who runs this program.  He makes most of his money selling people some program on becoming an independent, work from home insurance agent.  Now he seems to be an expert on the Honor System.  I've been in this business for 23 years and let me tell you, there is NO WAY this guy is an expert in the vending industry, let alone the Honor Snack business.  This "system" has only been around for a few years and some how HE is going to teach you to make money at this.  SCAM!  The whole thing sounds really sketchy.  The website is very generic and not much information, just typical "fluff" to sell YOU on purchasing his boxes.  They do claim to have "Placement Specialists" to help place the accounts, but then later on talks about hooking you up with an independent locator "in your area".

PLEASE...if you want to get into the Honor Snack business, do it the RIGHT way...work at it like any other business.  There is no "system" that will instantly put you into the honor snack and/or vending business overnight.  All they want to do is sell YOU.  Work at it yourself. Purchase your own boxes and set out to build your own route.  If you are diligent and work hard, you can build a lucrative business in this industry.  There are plenty of folks on this forum that will gladly give advice or info to help.  Just my 2 cents. :)

I am new here, water to do research because I had just talked to Drew Ross and was offered 100 boxes for $4995 but I would have to buy the Tootsie Pops. Costco had the best deal that I could find $660.87 for 10 boxes of 100 pops. They have a money back guaranty after 180 days. The first guy I talked to was Theo from the craigslist posting. Theo and the website said they would locate all the locations but when Drew called he said I would have to find them. I did the math and it looks like a guy could make a lot of money if there was no competition.

I am on disability and would have to use a credit card just to get going but there is no way I'm going to hand over 4995 plus purchase all the candy and hope it all works out. I also would have to travel to Eugene Oregon, about a 100 mile trip one way to make a real income. I am in Roseburg Or. that has about 23,000 population and a few small towns around here to work too.

Most of you guys have done this awhile so if anybody has advice on how or if it is wise to do this please let me know.

Look at the post directly above your post and heed his warning. This is a BAD DEAL. Based on what you have written in your own post you are getting 100 card board boxes for 5K. Do you really think that is a good deal? Instead of chasing internet scams take some time and research all of the info on here. After doing alot of reading on here you find yourself still wanting to pursue this venture then start small and local to see if it is indeed for you.

Avoid that scam like the plague. You can get honor boxes for less than $10 each. If they're not giving locations, where do they justify the other $40/box they're charging? Hell even if they are locating them for you, how do they justify that price?

If you're interested in honor boxes, check out www.sheridansystems.com. They have a very good honor box program and they aren't nearly as expensive. There is money to be made, but only if you do it the right way and dint get ripped off.

I found this website because I was doing research, there is no way I would spend 5 grand with out looking into it. Thanks for the advice, if I do get into this I will not be scamed by some ripoff artist!

Super hard flint flash. I went to a fancy diner and did not get the sale, but could've sold the whole box standing there talking to the guy. Woman kept dropping dollars and getting candy bars!

It's funny how that happens.  We've gone into a business, gave the manager our pitch and he turns us down.  Meanwhile, his employees come up and ask to purchase items out of the snack tray as my sales rep is there trying to pitch them.  Finally he changes his mind and lets us place a snack tray.  His original objection was that he didn't think his employees would use the box.  They actually sold it for us...LOL! :)

Maybe I should wait until the owner is there?

I decided to go with charity vending.. hoping it works out. We almost went with Drew with another company he has called Freedom With Honor... He was so persistent getting all these people to call my husband

Freedom with Honor is not "another" company from this scam-artist, but the SAME piece of garbage company with a different name.  The entire website is the same except for the opening page.  You did well to avoid this loser. :)

Be careful!  Have you given Charity Vending any money yet?  I believe that they are about ditto with Freedom with Honor.  Watch out for these "charity honor box" biz-ops.  I would look into Sheridan Systems and just purchase your boxes and place them yourself.  No telemarketing locator is going to find great accounts, let alone even qualify them properly.  Also, there is way too much time for businesses to change their mind from the telephone call until you place the box.  Do it right!  Buy your own boxes and place them yourself.  You will be glad you did and build a much better business than these "biz-op" scams ever could.
