Snack Man 2000 Posted July 18, 2017 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Okay, Been drilling for a solid hour on a cheap lock. There's almost nothing left of the lock, and I still can't get inside. CapitalCityVendingLLC Posted July 18, 2017 Share Posted July 18, 2017 What type of drill and drill bit are you using? You gotta have a big boy bit and a big boy drill. I did one a couple months ago. cvending Posted July 18, 2017 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Stop. Before you cause more damage than needed. Firstly, what type of handle is it? 1/4 turn or does it thread in? You don't want to drill all the way through. Rather than drill through the middle of the lock, you need to drill out the tab on the lock that moves in & out with the key. Lock at either the 6 o'clock or 12 o'clock position in the handle. Try to pick it using a pick tool. Once you retract it into the cylinder the handle should pop open. AZVendor Posted July 19, 2017 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Before you drill look at the tumbler position and figure out from another lock where it's likely that the lock's spring bolt is. Then drill the handle just outside of the lock hole aiming toward that bolt. When you're deep enough to be through the bolt then hammer on the lock to see if it opens. By saying the t-handle only turned a little then you might have jammed the lockbar when moving the machine and bouncing it off the floor could free it up.
