Robcamaro
Wondering if someone can help me with this. I have a Crane Merchant 4 combo that is giving me a problem. At least once or twice a month I go to the location and the screen will have a selection number stuck on it. You can't cancel. None of the buttons will do anything. I have to turn the machine off and on again and its fine. I have replaced the main board and that didn't help. I also put a surge protector. Any ideas? lacanteen
It's the vend sensors. Also make sure your firmware is 2.10 or higher.
Robcamaro
Thanks! I have had issues with the vend sensors in the past and changed them about a year ago. I'm having issues with the vend sensors again so that makes sense. Would disabling the surevend remedy the screen locking up problem for now? lacanteen
Don't just disable them, unplug them from the board
Robcamaro
Oh ok. Can I just unplug them from the delivery chute end or it has to be from the board?
lacanteen
It's much easier at the board (motor control board J3), but either end.
Robcamaro
I wasn't sure which plug on the board it was but was able to follow the wire pretty easy. Thanks!!!
Robcamaro
It's still happening. Any other thoughts on what might be causing this issue? Their is an ice machine next to it. Could that be causing some interference?
AZVendor
That is very possible. If the two machines are on the same circuit then you need to isolate them both. The ice machine should be on it's own circuit and your machine should share with nothing more than a snack machine that pulls little current. If the two machines are already on their own circuits you could still easily be getting interference from the relays and dump valves in the ice machine so then you would need to move your machine to another wall. Southeast Treats
Possible suggestion for interference - maybe a small UPS power supply that you would use for a computer would filter out the issues from the ice machine?? Not sure, maybe someone else here with more electrical smarts could weigh in....
Robcamaro
So I'm still having the same issue. The ice machine is no longer there but I'm still having the same problem. I had the main control board checked and updated. Replaced the validator and mech and disabled and unplugged the Surevend. If anybody has any other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Corvus Corax
Light or ballast interference maybe?
