Snack Man 2000
I am thinking about changing all my tubes to LED. I have been experimenting with some inexpensive bulbs from 1000bulbs.com They have 24" hard wire bulbs for $5.99 each. I have installed a couple of these, and like them so far. They also have retrofit bulbs too that are direct replacement led using existing ballast. The only thing is they say it should be used with a ballast on their list. Has anyone had any luck with these bulbs? They have a 5 year warranty. Is the warranty legit?

Corvus Corax
If they made a 5ft replacemen, I would be all over it.

D&S has a 5ft T8 retrofit that is ballast compatible. About $35/each. Haven't seen anyone else near that price.
AngryChris
I don't like dealing with wiring. If i didn't mind, i would bypass the ballast every time.

They have hybrid bulbs that you don't have to bypass ballast.

I know, but i am saying that i would rather remove the ballast completely from the machine so it can never cause an issue. I am just too lazy. 1
