Royal can vendor not dispensing quarters

This is a Royal 2000 (rev. 5.11) 8-select can vendor that's giving me problems.  Dimes and nickels dispense fine, but quarters do not want to come out regardless of the coin mech I put in.  I am convinced the problem is with the board but I am looking for any input to confirm this.  I think it may be far cheaper to just exchange the board than to convert it to MDB.. but to that point, will converting to MDB solve this problem?

Edit: Just so you know, the quarter tube clicks and tries to dispsense, and it will work fine if I keep continuously doing so from the machine-side, but only after it initially begins to dispense properly.. in other words, it will click multiple times until it seems to have enough juice to actually eject a single quarter, then the next number of quarters will mostly dispsense.. but once the mech has been idle for a bit, it seems as though it no longer has the juice.  I can't believe that 2 or even 3 mechs in a row were the problem here.

If multiple coin mechs do this and you know that you don't have coins stuck together then it's the logic board that has the problem.  I'm not aware of any upgrade kit for the machine so another Royal board is needed.

One of the parts suppliers had MDB harnesses for the 2000 but it had to be either 5.11 or 5.12 (or higher) to work.  I never bought any and they are no longer shown on the sites.

D&S has what appears to be a retro board that brings everything up to date for dex, cc reader, mdb, etc...  i think that's a good investment given the capacity and quality of most 2000's.  It says G3/2000 so maybe much of the harnessing on the two boards is the same.  I have a single G3 that might be worth updating as i have heard issues about the G3's and card readers (not sure if true) in addition to other issues with G3 boards.

It might be worth it for you to check it out.  Can those machines vend bottles two-deep? Lol.

I somewhat doubt that such a board exists. The G3 has a special board due to the chain drive system, while the Merlin 2000 uses the standard direct drive motor and rotor.

Huh, that's pretty cool.

ETA: It's for the Merlin 2000 and Merlin 3, not the G3.

Oops.  Well that makes sense.  I swear I am on the verge of starting to need reading glasses.  I am on the fence between whether I am ready to come to terms with it or if I want to keep telling myself I can read everything perfectly fine.

Trust me, at some point, your arms will be too short.
