What model Rowe and what’s it worth

Recommended Posts

Yup, 5900Jr. Parts are hard to find, but many of the 4900 parts also fit the 5900. There are also aftermarket controllers that give you MDB and allow you to use card readers. These things are built like a tank.

The machine is a tank but the weakest part is the delivery door.  When the linkage between the front Push door and the rear anti-pilfer door starts to loosen then the two doors can begin to bind up.  This is when people start forcing the Push door open or even kick it or hit it with objects, all of which then bend the Push door pivots.  Those pivots can be straightened one time before the door then needs to be replaced (if you want the anti-pilfer door to work) but there are no doors available any longer.  Those were the first parts to disappear from suppliers because they are the most commonly replaced part.  $100 is a good price for a working machine.  $500 is also good if it's updated with an aftermarket board and has a vend sensor.

What model? Outdated?

Rowe 5900 Jr, meaning it's a four wide,  Four wides are hard to come by these days and Rowe made a very good machine except that their electronics were designed by extraterrestrials.  Every surface in those tanks was finished to perfection unlike a USI where you need leather gloves to refurbish one (if you like having all your fingers).  This one looks to be in very nice shape.  For a hundred bucks you can't lose - the scrap value alone is worth twice that if you sell off the parts.
