Rob
I have a Dixie Narco 5591 machine, the default prices on it are 1 dollar, trying to get to the service mode to change it but the display does not work. When I power up the machine random characters show up on it then the screen goes blank. Everything else is operational, any ideas what is wrong? Rob
Anyone? I’m totally lost we are a firehouse in CT we have no idea what part it could be and don’t want to start randomly replacing stuff.
lacanteen
Does the machine work otherwise? It's likely the display, but could be the control board or EPROM on the board. I'll dig around for one. I retired my last bottle drop 6 years ago. I wonder if its the same as a a DN5000 (Coke).
Rob
Yes everything works just the display is messed up, it turns on, shows some random jumbled lit pixels then the display shuts off.
Rob
It looks like the eprom version is 030.71 which I can’t find anywhere, is it possible the wrong chip is in there? We got this machine used.
lacanteen
30.71 is an acceptable version as the last one I bought 7 years ago was version 30.82. I'm still digging for info. Might be Monday or Tuesday before I hear back.
Rob
Okay....when I start it up it doesn’t show the version on the display just scrolls a star across it once, a zero halfway, flashes this pic below for a half second then the display is off the rest of the time. lacanteen
What happens when you press the mode button? If nothing, is your door switch functional?
Rob
Nothing happens if I press the mode button...the door button is fine because it beeps every time I open the door up.
Golfdogs
turn the machine off and try unplugging and replugging the the display ribbon cable.
Rob
Tried that too
Golfdogs
I've had a few that got pinched in-between the door when that access door is closed. The ribbon cable can get pulled out from the control board. It will look as if it is still plugged in.
lacanteen
Here are some answers. What you took a picture of is the display for a DN5000 which was the original Coke elevator machine. The shelving parts are the same from a 5500 to a 5000. The boards were different for sure. I have the same display as in your picture, just 2 revisions older, which I will send to you. To verify you have a 5591, your machine drops the bottles/cans into a baffled delivery compartment, right? If so, the display should be part #80492524 board, R display 5500 GFV which costs around $150.00. The latest software for the 5591 is #80491703 ($18). Someone may have stuck that display on the machine to sell it, or it may have worked. The display I have came off of a Dasani DN5000. Drop me an email and we'll decide what to do. gbruss <at> mmsalescompany <dot> com
Rob
The parts manual for the 55xx series says the display board is correct
lacanteen
Then what I have should work, if that is the problem.
