In my experience, that is a good deal.  USAT has lower monthly service fees for units owned outright, vs rental or lease units where you are paying off the purchase over 5 years.  Most of the other providers charge about the same for hardware and the same or more for monthly service.

You can look for deals on used units and have them transferred to you; I think some of the regulars on this forum have some deals available.  You can sometimes find them on EBay but unless you know about the sellers you can't be sure they work or they have not installed skimmers.  For new units in small quantities that price is about right.  If you are a big company buying 500 at a time maybe you can get a better deal...
