Crane 168 No power at all

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Got a call from a location my Crane 168 has no power.  None to the board nor lights on.  Checked the electrical outlet, it works, breaker fine, everything seem connected.  Could this be a power cord that is bad?  A vending buddy of mine seems to think so, if so how would i have a general understanding of the repair but would like input.

As always, any help comments is appreciated.

Take a tic tracer and move it from the outlet up the cord to the back of the machine.  If it stops beeping there is no electricity traveling through the cord.

Most likely just need to replace the male end that plugs into the outlet.

Learn to use a voltmeter and trace the 110v into the cabinet.  I can tell you that if the light doesn't even work then it's probably a bad power cord but it can be something between where the cord enters the machine and the light circuit.  That's the first place 110v power generally goes to.  Anacapa brought up a good point about the wall plug.  One look at a wall plug and you can often determine that it is suspect.  But still, learn to use a voltmeter so you don't have to ask simple questions like this.  You're basically asking us to guess if your cord is bad when you haven't done any diagnostics yourself.  Or just pay a qualified tech to fix it.
