Sgolembiewski0903
Having a little problem with a 440. After I serviced it it won't take money. It has chAnge in the mech and the bill acceptor is a mars 2000, it just flashes twice for being disabled. Ive tried unplugging the machine but it doesn't work. There is and always has been a product jam in one of the rows, could that be the problem? Not sure what the priblem could be?
AZVendor
Ok, doofus, fix that column. You probably have a bent rotor. In a single price machine a jammed column inhibits vending. Yours probably only worked when the motor overheated which can cause the motor to be bypassed temporarily.

I am a doofus I completely forgot about that little tidbit in a single price! Wheb I made this post I KNEW inwas forgetting something! I kept unjamming that column but it kept getting jammed so I just said to heck with it. Bent rotor, will that require a replacement part? I'm heading over there right now to see what I can do but I'm wondering if I should just call in the repair guy? Not sure I've ever unjammed a machind like a 440 except for basically forcing the jammed can through the slot and cleaning up the mess afterwards... Any advice on how to do it properly? AngryChris
If you don't need the selection, leave it empty and your problem is solved. If you need to replace the rotor, you have to take the motor off and fiddle with a few other parts to replace the rotor.

That probably makes sense that the rotor would be bent with consistent jams like I'm having, huh? So if I unjam it and leave the selection empty, will that help my problem? Or is it too late because I already messed things up? Taking off the motor seems to come uo every now and then but I've never done it because I dont want to destroy something... Is it doffixult to do or am I over-worried?
57thTom
If you leave it empty and the sold out switch works the machine will continue to vend from the other selections. Worry only makes things more difficult. Look at the parts manual if there is one. Then ask for help again if you need that selection.
orsd
Unload as many cans as you can. Press the brake, release the jammed can. Make sure both switches are in a cam valley. Done. When you go switch out the cam its easy, only thing is remember the position of the old rotor when you remove the motor, and install it the same way. Ie remember if the rotor cup is up or down, and reinstall the same way. Otherwise, if you mess it up, you will know, because it will vend 2 then none, then 2 again. If so, just remove the motor and flip the rotor (rotor will fit only 2 ways).

As others have mentioned, and with pretty much any dixie narco stack vendor aside from the P series that everyone despises, you can empty most of the column, remove power from the motors (via barrel plug or unplug the machine from the outlet if that's easier for some reason), press on the brake and manually turn the rotor, which might require you to move the arms on the motor switches out of the way while you push down on the brake with the same hand. Basically, use one hand to hold the motor switches (if necessary) and press down on the brake and then use the other hand to turn the rotor while being mindful to not pinch your fingers or something. Once you have turned it far enough, you can remove the can(s) that are jammed and get back to business, unless it keeps happening. As long as the motor switches are in place and the selection is empty enough to make people unable to vend from that selection, then that column can't jam and won't keep the circuit open and prevent the machine from being usable. It's actually as simple as that. If I am not mistaken, which I may be, then the DN 440 is just an 80" version of the DN 368, so it is an 8-select machine with 4 wide columns, 4 narrow, and only 2-deep. If that is correct, then the parts you would need would be compatible with a DN 368 as it should be virtually the same thing except taller.
