So that’s what that is? The plunger was stuck down.  The crazy thing is, I had a spare with me. Lol

The sequencing solenoid is what makes the machine alternate between columns 1 and 2 on Coke door machines.  It fires on every credit made or sometimes on every odd select button press, depending on how the machine is wired.

Would a stuck solinoid have an effect on the credit not cancelling or would it just take out the second column?

If it's stuck completely down or up then it would have no effect except to not alternate columns.  If it's stuck part way it would open the vend circuit.  You'll notice a switch on the side of the solenoid and it is what would be affected by the stuck solenoid.
