Romano71
I converted 3 DN machines from bottles to cans and have over 20 bottle shims as a result. is there any market for these? Anyone here interested or in need?
57thTom
What model machine? Do you know the shim part number?
Romano71
They came out of a 276 and 501 but look the same. They were original so no part number. 20 oz bottles were being sold until conversion.
Joe101us
What are you asking got a pic of them
Romano71
I would ask 50% of market price ( i can look that up) but the issue is shipping weight. I took pictures but they are too big to upload. I can email them if needed. I just got 2 can shims yesterday and they cost me $5.95 each. So I guess $2.75 a piece. AZVendor
Keep them for the eventuality that you will need to sell any 20 oz flavors in the future. Do you really not have space to just keep them? Are you in the vending business or not?
Romano71
I have no interest in selling bottles. That’s why I converted the machines to cans.
EastWest
I am doing the same thing now... I have a 501E that has been selling bottles... my question is. I think you need to install rods into the augers to sell cans... is that really necessary?
AZVendor
You need the rod and springs along with the can shims to do anything smaller in diameter than 20 oz bottles. This is to ensure that the cans actually fall from the rotor when they are supposed to and that they don't just roll back into the rotor and not fall. EastWest
Where is the best place to buy a 12oz conversion kit and how much is it?
Romano71
Vendors exchange. It takes about an hour and skinny arms to complete. Cost depends on number of slots. From $50-$85 roughly.
bullyfrog
Which slot does the rod go in? I'm in the middle of converting a 501E. There are three holes for the rod. I've already changed the shims out.

bullyfrog
One more quick question regarding shims and rods. The 501e I'm robbing parts from was set for bottles. They had bottle shims with the rod in the middle hole. So, when would you not use the rods? I never paid em much attention to be honest.
Corvus Corax
I think most folks are corverting to the can shims, since you can vend both cans and 16.9 bottles with them. I have converted most of my 501Es to can/16.9.
AZVendor
Rods are needed for any product in a narrow column that is smaller in diameter than a 20 oz bottle.
bullyfrog
The previous owners were using rods to vend 20oz bottles?
