I saw this on craigslist today - actually this evening.  Couldn't believe anybody would sell this rack for $25.  Spent about a minute talking with my wife about making the trip to go get it and called the guy.  It was already sold and for just $25.  No, he doesn't have another one.  lol  I just posted this here to make a point - you can't hesitate if it's a great deal.  Posted Imageeone

That's pretty funny :)

I don't think I could sell a machine on craigslist without trying to figure out what it was worth first....those look to be in excellent shape too...

It is mind boggling how many deals there are when they don't know what to charge. They could have got $125 at least for that rack. Who knows how many more deals are sitting in storage like this. I mean a 7 way Beaver for $25, come on. A coin mech cost that much. I would have called from the car on the way out of the driveway.

A coupla months ago this guy listed 3 or 4 Kinetics for $100. I called him and told him I'll take them, I'm leaving now and you're about an hour away so thats how long it will take me to get there, the owner said thats fine but I'm leaving for somewhere else in 3 hours so you have to be here by then. When I got there someone else had them loaded on HIS truck and was tying them down. The owner was very apologetic and said he would give me the $100 for coming out. I surmise that the other guy got there first and offered $200 or $300 for the machines.

Tom,

What kind of kinetics were they? Aren't you in the Dallas area? This rack was up in Vegas. I've driven up there before and can do that up and back in the same day.

I've got a question about that rack. On the bottom shelf, in the machine second from the left--it that a capsule wheel in there (the one that looks like it has spokes coming out from the rod)?

Can it be used as a gumball wheel?

Thanks for any help.

I agree.  We vendors need to do our homework and also realize when a real deal is in front of us and need to jump on it ASAP..

But also beware of those that create a false sense of urgency!  I had this experience from usedvending.com.  When I inquired about some equipment (on more than one occassion), they would always say "I just want to give you a heads up that someone else is also looking at these and I would hate to see you loose out to them".  Yea, right!  I worked with software salesreps for 13 years and they told me a number of their little tricks.

One is to create a false friendship (by giving a head ups and pretending to be looking out for you).  The other is to create a false sense of urgency (by claiming another party is interested or quantities are limited or limited time offer).

Sorry to go off topic a bit.  Just be careful of "false" deals.  Not sure what is worse - Salesreps, locators or Sam's gumballs!
