Jacktrillson
Hi to all! Folks, I am 19 years old and want to start my first business with vending machines. I read many articles regarding high net cashflow from vending and thus have a burning desire to start one. The fact is I don't have acquintances with whom I could talk over the topic, so I really need your help and advice. First and foremost I would like to know your experience on that: - How long are/were you in a business? - Did you have a shortage of funds to start off? How did you cope with that? - Was it difficult to enlarge the business and how did you resolve it? - Does the business generate high profit? I am open to any discussion. And please, the more information you share the more you open my eyes. Thanks in advance!
Mehehe
What kind of vending are you thinking about; Bulk (gumball machines), Full Line (pop and snack machines), ATM's or amusement (games and prizes)?
AZVendor
Don't you just love it when they ask questions but never return for the answers?
Jacktrillson
Sorry, was in trouble. I am more interested in full line machines.
AZVendor
Start small with used can-only machines and look for blue collar accounts. This will teach you whether you want to be in the business or not. It has very low margins after expenses so you won't get rich from it.
BGJ
I started my full line 2 months ago. Bought a route (3 locations, 5 machines) for 8k, and already spent another 8k so far (total of 16k) in two months! I've added 2 more machines at one location (on my own) to my route. I've collected abo ut about $3k back so far. I have recouped 20% of my investment so far and am aiming to recoup everything within a year. Per month, i spend no more than $80 in gas and 15 hours in labor (shopping, going on my routes). I've spent $500 for insurance, $75 in repairs, $200 to replace a part and about $300 to add a cc reader to one of my machines. I would love any feedback from veterans (good or bad). I would like to improve!
