ghostridergt Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Im thinking of swapping out one of my heads that has hot tamales that DONT sell with 1inch gumballs. im on the fences about switching the products out since one of the employees in the shop does like the hot tamales but over the course of the month it only does about 8-9 vends. So what do you guys think of gumballs at an oil change shop? The other 2 heads are PMM and skittles. The PMM does great and the skittles are so so at best.
lurtsman Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 My gumballs in an oil change shop are doing terrible--however that location just seems bad. Noone wants to stay in there.
dperry Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 This might be one of those situations where a triple is too much machine for the location. Maybe you should invest in a double and put the triple in a better location. In the vast majority of the few cases where I have doubles with candy and gumballs, I have found that the gumballs will still sell better than the candy. So you should at least try the gumballs. If your machine can vend gumballs, then it should also be able to sell toys that comes in the round capsules, or maybe even some 27mm bouncy balls. Those might be other alternatives you could try. Finally, you may want to try Reeses. I've had a tattoo location (Just adults, no kids) that just goes through the Reeses like they were free.
davidsurvz Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I sold out of GB and Skittles and PMM's at a quick stop oil change place. If you already have a GB wheel and GB's just try it out and see how it goes....
timberframe50 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I have 2 oil change places, the gumballs do about 4 dollars a month, but I'm running triples and the average for these 2 is 40 per month. I'm leaving the gum balls because I don't believe a third candy would increase my sales.
