Honda man Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I tried MI in a Vendesign 4 select for the first time. They end up getting caught between the hopper and the springy metal plate, so the MI's get chopped in half and make a sticky mess. I'm guessing that HT would do the same thing. It's the 4 selection , carousel style that looks similar to the U-Turn. I'm using the standard candy hopper and I've tried it at the smallest setting and also wide open. I know there are a couple of people using Vendesigns here, just can't remember who. Have you run across the same problem and is there a solution other than to not sell MI and HT? Ernie
nam Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Ernie, I can only tell you that it works for sure. Not from personal experience as I only have 2 Vendesign machines and both are in storage. However, the bowling alley has had them for a long time and seem to vend just fine. So it has to be something in your setting. or using a different. nam
nam Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Ernie, I looked up the instructions here for you. This is what you need to do for Mike & Ike, Hot Tamales or other soft chewy candies. Here's what you do. There are two stainless steel springs in the bottom of the canister. Remove the slotted piece of metal on the inside of the canister, leaving the retangular piece of metal on the outside intact, and reinstall the screws to keep it in place. Next spray with Pam on the bottom surfaces of the canister. Thoroughly spray the stainless steel as well. You may need to do this on each service call during the summer months. There you go buddy. Now, am I still the champ with the 14 baskets on the Shootin Hoops? Additional info on settings: 2Up will vend 7MI, 2Down will vend 9 MI, 3Up will vend 11 MI, 3Down will vend 13MI, 4 will vend 16 MI. To make the adjustments above this is how you do it: Place the empty canister upside down on a flat surface. Position metal tab on the food tube to 12 O'Clock. Place a finger inside food tube and push out the back side of the canister. Arrange shelve to desired position. Place food tube back into canister. Be sure the food tube is securely in. You should hear a snap when it is in place. nam
Honda man Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 Nam Hey, thank you very much for the info!! I'll give it a try and see how it works. I made 32 in a row this evening! Just kidding:D I'm still only up to 7. So yes, you are still the Shootin Hoops king. My kids are trying to beat your record, just have to convince them that all gumballs belong to dad. Ernie
