T BIRD Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 You would think after 17 months in the business I would have some racks placed making money. Not! I am placing my first rack at an ice cream joint in about 10 days when the weather breaks. Customers get served outside thru a window. My rack will be outside with them. Its small with 4 NW60s. The place is totally mobbed with kids and adults from May to the end of September and even most of October. I am paying the guy 25%. I am gonna try Adopt a Puppy for 50 cents, gumballs 2 for a quarter, classic one inch tattoos, and Spiderman Superballs for 50 cents. I think I may be able to get away with the 50 cent things cause the place only deals in increments of 25 cents for everything they sell. So unless you give exact change you always walk away with quarters! Bingo!!
Beer980 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Sounds good to me. I am also considering the Adopt a Puppy #2 and some type of .25 tattoos. Big Head Dog and Hood Hounds #3 are also on my list as possible alternatives. I went with a premimum type 29mm ball mix.
G-man422 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Johnny, if there isn't any competition you should have no proplem vending gumballs at a quarter each. Sounds like it's going to be a killer location!
antoniocinisi Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 the puppies didn`t sell well for me or Steve and possibly others too.don`t buy to many tbird. also spiderman tattos in 1 inch caps didn`t do too well for me.I thought for sure anything spiderman was going to blow thru my machine but it didn`t.

I have to agree John. The adopt a puppies were, by far, my worst seller ever. I ended up just giving them away as samples to kids as I serviced. Hope yours do better. Steve
T BIRD Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 Thanks for the input everyone. Youre right Gabe. One gumball will be fine. Pest control? Hmmmmmm. I dont know. Antonio and Steve.......I am gonna change to something else to start with. Thanks.
Jax Snacks Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I would try to get at least one hoops with super balls in there as well. You may need to chain it down if it's outside. Not sure if you can mount one on a rack - it may be too big. The mini hoops can be mounted on a rack if you have any. I have heard good things about the mustaches and Mini Malz from A&A, but I have not used any myself. You can always put in superballs in the mean time. Have fun with this. Once you do racks, you will not want to go back to singles and doubles. Yea, Adopt a Puppy and Adopt a Kitty have been real losers for me as well. In fact, I am liquidating them at a quarter in many places to get rid of them forever. You can say that I am doing a "Plant of the Apes" job on my dogs and cats! Remember the 4th movie of the series in the 70's? All the dogs and cats died of disease and the chimps became pets and then slaves and then the master species. Kinda wierd I know, but I can't stop thinking of that movie every time I fill the bowl with dogs and cats for a quarter to liquidate them. Jax
West Coast Vend LLC Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Johnny, Try Magic Mix, Bendable Buddy's or Monkey Madness from A&A in 2" capsules. They have always sold well for me in all my Blockbusters. Good luck with your new account. It sounds like a good one for the Summer months. P.S. Spray around the base of the machines with a good ant spray. Gary
antoniocinisi Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 minimalz in a 2 inch cap for 50 cents dont do well for me.I have only tried them in 1 location though. I think they would sell better in 1 inch for a quarter.
