nam Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Who would have ever imagined this combination together.
lurtsman Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 That's freakin awesome. ROFL, and I'm browsing while watching the daily show. This picture was even better than the show.
joebob051977 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 That is too funny. It looks a little top heavy.
nam Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 I can't look at that picture without laughing! Can you imagine how top heavy that thing would be with the globe on the spiral full of gumballs? Not to mention the fact that it is just so weird looking with that spiral up there. The little kids better hope their mommy is tall enough to put the quarter in. And you'd need a small ladder to fill that spiral. nam
dperry Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 It looks like they shortend the base pole to something like 18" to make the whole thing shorter. Don't laugh. I considered doing something similar myself.
Beer980 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I say it is right about 5 feet to the top of the globe. I actually like it.
nam Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 Hey Beer, I posted it here in the Shop and Swap section. Can't recall where but it was just posted yesterday and sure I put up some weird comment in the heading most likely. I think it's only like $75. Actually, I thought if you took the small spiral and placed it in one place and the double in another it's a pretty good buy. It just looks awkward and top heavy to me and think with the top globe filled it would come over too easy. nam
dperry Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I did mention that I had considered making a similar 4-way 'rack'. Here's a picture of what I came up with. It was only with the parts I had on hand. If I had some smaller pipes, it would prolly look much better. A couple of 18" pipes would prolly work. Would have to beef up the base tho.
Jax Snacks Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I have built the same type of stands and have some on location. I actually like them. It's a shame to waste that space on the bottom half of a pipe stand. However, I would use a 6 inch pipe on the bottom to lower the center of gravity - you can get them at Lowes or Home Depot. This setup is great when you either have very limited space for just a double wide or you wish to slam (oops, I mean add) a few more heads to an existing location without taking up any more significant space and not having it look more intrusive. Jax
antoniocinisi Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 a question to those of you that make your own stands.I am sure I can make my own stands but I can`t figure out what to use for the round base.what would you use?
dperry Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Gotta think outside the box. If you notice, many of the flat vending machines will come with 'H' stands. You can prolly easily make an 'H' stand from 2x4 studs (also found at Home Depot or Lowes).
vendingdelaltiplano Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I like the design, it is very original. Personally I would prefer the three machines to the same level, but it looks cool.
nam Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 This looks much better to me. This is made by the Wizard Spiral people at http://www.globalgumball.com and allows you to add other machines to your spiral base. Of course it could be single heads like in this thread or something completely different. The stand is there so just what ever you want to put on it. This looks much more aesthetically pleasing and alot more stable to me. This setup would be so cool with a 2 column sticker/tattoo on one side and a 2" capsule on the other side.
vendingdelaltiplano Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Absolutely Nam. The stand with three spiral machines has a high visual impact. Thanks for the link, I didn´t have it. Have a nice day and a good weekend.
nam Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 You bet and these people are seriously nice folks too. They actually build machines right there where you will be calling. Their main line for years has been the Wizard Spiral and probably the very best one made in the opinion of most vendors using spirals. They are located here in Arizona (Gilbert) as well. You have a good weekend too! nam
vendingdelaltiplano Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Here in Mexico is a company named "Vendetti de México" and they sell only Wizard Spiral Machines. They are near the border. I´m sure they are buying directly with global gumball company.
vendingdelaltiplano Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I was seeing the webpage of global gumball and they have very good spiral machines. In San Luis and Monterrey I had seen the Original, the Giant, and the Wiz-Kid Wizard. But the Mega Wizard is amazing (Globe 35", Capacity 20,000 gumballs, Height 7´6") . How are the Wizard machines doing in the US? Would you recommend I buy one in the future? Look at this beauty, I hadn´t seen it before.
nam Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 Abdon, This picture you posted I have posted here in the forum as well. lol It is in a mall very close to where I live. From what I have been told by people that have been using the spirals longer than me is that they still do alright but not what they used to do. You may do better in Mexico than the US as doubt your market is flooded with all kinds of machines like we are up here. nam
