I've been doing alot of shopping around for 1" toys in capsules and am curious as to where most of you purchase the bulk of your supply. Been looking at the most popular suppliers and the prices are all over the place. Also see that some suppliers are just reselling other peoples stuff to make a proffit. When you buy from one or two companies, please tell why. Product assortment ? Convienence ? Price ?

I'll be ordering from A&A again within the week. Quite possibly today.

For my reason, they have a fairly large selection and good prices. Customer service has been good as well. If they sold zoo mania, I'd proclaim them to be the best in the supplying business :P.

I order from Brand as they have the best selling 1" capsules. Just a fact. So why order something that is 3rd or 4th in the market? If PM&M's out sell Boston Baked Beans I think I'll probably pass on the BBB and go with the PM&M's. I'm not saying Brand has the only good selling 1" capsules. Just the top selling in history so I'd suggest ordering some from Brand and then if you want some other stuff go ahead and order it as well. I'm also not saying you can't buy something cheaper as you can. But again, is it cheaper to put in something that doesn't sell as well? Boston Baked Beans are like half the price of PM&M's, right?

Call Craig at brandvendingproducts.com Ph: 800-967-3048. You may have to wait a bit to get these but order their Mania series, Zoo Mania and Sea Mania. It may take 2-4 weeks as they can't keep up or get enough from their supplier. They have now sold 35 million!!! That number just jumped from 32 million! In the mean time they have lots of other things you can use such as rings, stickies, etc.. All their 1" caps are round - nothing sold in acorns any more and vend alot better than acorns. All their 1" caps are $19 per bag of 250.

lurtsman,

Yes, that is before shipping but to my knowledge no one offers free shipping so regardless of where you buy that will be part of the cost as well. The capsules are no doubt more expensive than gumballs or much of our bulk candy to vend. The most expensive product to vend regardless of bulk candy or capsules is the one that doesn't sell as well as something else. We could fill our machines with outdated capsules, runts, boston baked beans, etc. and really lower the cost of goods sold. I think filling a machine with a mix of out dated product to get it to move is cool but overall I think we can make more money selling the best selling product even if the cost of goods sold is higher. The same is true with paying commission. I have locations right now I'm only paying 10% commission. I don't have any yet that I'm paying 40% but hope to. Can't wait to pay a higher commission because this will mean I'm making more money too! I'd rather pay 40% commission to a location making several hundred a month than 10% commission to a location making $50 a month. My most profitable locations have always been those I'd paid the highest commission. I think the same is true in buying product. The highest income you will make will be from selling the best and often the higher priced items in your machines. This is not an IMO, it is a fact in my experience. Is there an abbreviation for that? lol

The reason Brand can't hardly keep these things in stock and they're selling so well isn't that the kids would so much rather buy  1 Zoo Mania than 1 Sticky!!! Or whatever!  These are just cute soft little animals - not that much cooler than getting a ring, tattoo or whatever else out of the machine.  The reason they sell so well is not only do the kids like them - they collect them!  They want their Zoo collection.  If they don't have the Hippo then they want to get it.  So they just keep collecting.  Brand did just have Zoo Mania.  Now they also have Sea Mania.  Now they have series 1 and series 2.  Smart like I am I'll bet we are gonna have Zoo Mania series 3 and 4!  :D  The kids may really like their Dentures or Glo Sticks or whatever else you can sell out of your machines but do they collect a series of Dentures and Glo Sticks?  Now when the kid wants a Hippo and doesn't get it is he gonna give up.  No - he's gonna keep trying until he gets one, right?  Anything  the kids like and then want to collecf in series is gonna be better than a toy that is not a collectible.  If these ever become not so popular I will look for another collectible like them and sure all suppliers would like to find the next Zoo Mania.  Right now Brand has it and they are the best selling 1" capsule in history.  If you don't sell them you're losing money.  IMO  This is my opinion as I don't have your experience but then neither do you if you haven't tried them?

I am looking to get more into toys, was wondering if these 1"caps will vend in a 1800 gumball canister, I would think they would, also is there a web site or some place that ranks the best selling 1"caps?? Help Please.

g r vending,

Yes, the 1" round capsules will vend in a 1800 machine. There are several threads with info on this subject but just look at the picture for West Coast Vending and see what Gary has done with them. You may not even recognize the machines as they are painted a bright yellow. Jeff up in Medford, Or. just posted a thread with pics on his new rack he built using 1800 machines as well. So these guys are turning the machines into racks vending more 1" caps with toys than candy!

As far as a website that ranks the best selling 1" caps, this is it! There may be some industry news letter or magazine that posts numbers but I don't know what it would be. Brand knows how many they have sold of Zoo Mania. They have just raised the number to 35 million.

I think Vendiscuss is a pretty good source of info on what is going on in all areas of this business. We have threads here on what machines are best, what's the best selling candy, or best selling caps. Of course we all know numbers are just that, numbers. It depends on the part of the country, location of the machine and lots of things can vary. One person may sell the heck out of Hot Tamales and someone else can't give them away. I'm doing ok with them and have one location that it is the best seller and the owner reminds me to never let it run out. Yet other vendors won't even carry them anymore. But I would rather read threads here in Vendiscuss from real vendors on the street telling me about how well a product, machine, coin mech. or whatever works or doesn't.

Nam,

Are you selling your 1 inch cap toys in the uturns or on racks?.

If you use uturns or triples for this can you provide an example of what mixture you have in the individual canisters and the type of site you would locate such a machine?.

Ron,

I do not have any racks. I will at some point get a few and wish I had a couple now just in case. My storage areas are seriously too full to find room for a toothpick right now.

The only way I can sell 1" capsules is in my smaller machines like the U Turns. The 1" caps will vend just using a gumball wheel. I use a mix of candy and capsules. Not having any machine with just candy or just caps. As you know with the big 8 Selects they are too big to fill with all candy in most locations. So I'm putting in toys that won't spoil. lol I'm using PM&M's, Mike & Ikes, Skittles, Hot Tamales, Reeces Pieces and a few nuts which I'm fading out. No longer going to do Cashews and Mixed Nuts for a number of reason - not just cost which is too high. All my caps at the moment are from Brand. I too have not long ago received my first shipment of the Zoo Mania. I have been using rings, stickies, blobs, etc. until my mania caps came in.

You no doubt have alot more experience than I at using caps in your U Turns. You are the leader for sure in U Turn machine count! All I can vend at the moment are the 1" caps and some of these guys are running alot of racks have better advice than me on what they find to be best sellers.

I just put my mania series out this week.you can fit a lot more of the the round caps too.

that might come in handy if these blow thru machines like they should.

Antonio,

I don't think they will go out like a flash flood. It will start slower and build to a steady flow. At first the kids won't know what they are and take a little bit for them to see them and then start wanting to collect them. As more kids start getting them and collecting them, you'll start seeing them really move alot faster.

I have sea mania back ordered. It should do real well especially with the ocean is a stone's throw away from the rack I have placed there.
