nam Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I've seen a number of gas pump gumball machines but haven't really liked any of them. Thought they looked more like something older adults might like in remembering the good old days. But the little kids that want a gumball would rather see something cooler like a Spiral. Well this machine has the Gas Pump look with the Spiral for the kids to watch the gumball roll down as well. Don't know who makes it and those gumballs look pretty big as well, huh? Anyone have one of these or seen one? I listed this one craigslist for $250 here in the forum. If got spirals coming out of my ears at the moment so I'm not interested in this one but still thought it was very unusual. nam
vendingdelaltiplano Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Excuse my ignorance Nam, but does this machine works as a standard machine? Its name comes for its similarity to a gas pum machine? I like the design, but I would take off the "pump it" section.
nam Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 Abdon, These are made to look like the old time gas pumps. Many of the machines actually have a hose with a nozzel on the end and really look more like a gas pump than this. The circle at the top that says "U Pump" will often be where they put the favorite logo of a sports team. Like if you placed one in your area and there is a popular soccer team you can put their logo in that spot. Most of the gas pump style machines vend 850 gumballs but would be able to vend the 1" capsules as well. The machine in this picture looks like it has larger than 850's to me? Basically, it will just depend on the wheel that is in the machine as to what it would vend. This machine may actually have been made by the Wizard company too but not sure. They like all companies have made machines and discontinued making them later. I don't think I have seen this machine exactly in their showroom but sorta looks like some other machines without the top circle on it from Wizard. nam
