kai1836 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 This used to be an old dirty (Orange) NW 80. I will post a before picture when I get it uploaded but for now here's the finished product. It went out on a rack tonight.
nam Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 kai, You been out in that garage alot, huh? This machine looks brand new!!! Great job! nam
kai1836 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 Nam, In all honesty I'm thinking about getting a stencil of my company name and spraying it in to all the machines I put out. I have also given some thought to having new chute covers cast with the company name on them as well. I think it would look nice and help me to start branding my business. Do you think it would be worth the cost?
nam Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 kai, I like the idea of making it well known who owns the machine but guess it would all depend on cost. I haven't a clue as to what it would cost to have new chute covers cast. I've had machine shops do some work that I couldn't do and they were fairly expensive. You'd probably have to pay to have the mold made - a one time fee depending on how complicated it was and how much time it would take in making it. The cost would probably be extremely high unless the volume were also extremely high. Usually on something like this you can't justify the cost unless you've buying hundreds of the item. I think if it had your name cast into the chute cover it might actually be confusing to a landlord that they were looking at the brand of machine and not who they needed to call. I'd probably suggest either the stecil idea or professional stickers with the company info. Mine almost look like metal but there not. I try putting them on the inside of the machine so as to not easily be removed. Still put them on the outside as well though. The failure rate for small business has always been really high. Now it doesn't seem to matter if it is a small or big business. Who knows who might be going out of business these days? I say anything you can do to mark your machines to let all know who it belongs to is a necessity more than ever. nam
dperry Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I like the idea of having the stencil or sticker with your company name. I thought of the same thing and using it to advertise HouTexVending.com. It would certainly identify your machine if you had your company name stenciled on it, so if a stolen machine ever turned up on ebay, you'd know it was yours. I've also thought of creating a 'city guide' website that would advertise all my locations and using the sticker/stencil to promote the website. Basically, I could tell the location owner that I could let them advertise their location on my 'city guide' website for free if they let me place my branded machines in their location. The more machines they allow (aka a rack) the higher their location would be on the list. Instead of paying commission to the location, since they would be getting an advertising service out of me, I would pay to have the website listed in google or something like that.
dperry Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Are those the Alertz Energy Balls from ActionMatic, or did you get them from someplace else?
kai1836 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 The machine actually has buzz bites in 2" caps. An account I got recently actually requested them. I hope the novelty doesn't wear off!
lurtsman Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 That machine looks so good, I saw it and was hoping you were driving through Iowa looking to sell it We can hope right?
