MountainMan Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Thought this might be a good time to talk about cleaning machines considering the outbreak of the flu bug. I used to wait to clean my machines until after I collected the money and refilled. I did this because I would get my fingers on the containers etc. Because of this new bug going around, I am going to use my sanitizer first and then do a final wipe down after I am done. I am also curious about the money. Does anyone here do anything about the coins themselves. I never really thought about it before, but if a virus can hang on for weeks on an object, like a quarter, I wonder if there is anything you could do about it. Perhaps wash hands after every location with a hand sanitizer? Ideas? and yes, I am still here. LOL
bacho Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 You can wash your hands after handling the money or get latex gloves. I use latex gloves when I'm restocking product anyway. Just keep them on when you're handing the money. But restock the machine first before handling the money.
T BIRD Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I think youre right Craig. The simplest and safest way is to put a pair of latex gloves on for each location.
nam Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Well, we have the same potential handling bills we pass around. All money is filthy and could cause a potential problem. The best way to handle this is send me your dirty filthy money to avoid all possible risk involved in handling. The desert heat will kill all those bad germs - of course it can take awhile. I might have to hang onto that cash for a year or more to kill all the germs and then I'll send it back to you germ free. And I'll provide this service of course at a very reasonable cost. Nice to have you back posting moutainman! nam
bacho Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Too funny, nam. So that's where all the bailout money is going to get sanitized.
andyinchville Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 HI, I've heard that to keep from getting sick it is important to NOT to use your hands to touch near your eyes, nose, ears. Hope this helps. Andrew
lurtsman Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 When my eyes, nose, or ears itches, I use a stick to scratch it so I won't be getting my hands near them. j/k , do keep your hands away from your face if you've been in germ territory (touching your machines/checking out books at the library)
