I was servicing a location that I bought from a vendor in OCT 08. I was almost done and the contact (that I speak to frequently) came up and said there was a problem. I asked what the problem was and she said we have not been getting our checks from the machines. I was told all the locations were commission free. Looks like I'm writing a $500 check tomorrow for back commission payments. I guess thats what I get for buying cheap crappy little routes.

They didn't. I came up with it after they told me they were getting a 10 % comm I think it will be worth keeping, They are doing about $600 a month. The problem is the prices are very low (even for non commission). I did take the chance to tell them I will have to raise prices to pay the commission.

Don't be surprised if their eyes pop out of their heads when you cut them that check. The guy you bought from has now been proven to be a scumbag so he was probably only giving them half at best of what they were entitled to.  If that is the case, they're gonna really love you and at least the account will be safe for quite some time!

Why didn't you ask seller if he was paying comm, to accounts??

That would be my 2nd. ? to ask first would be is price....

They said that raising the prices was not a problem. They said the last guy always cut a check for $25-30 (as his 10%). He also told me that he had no idea what the collection amounts were. I think he may have just picked a number between 25-30 and wrote a check:)
