lurtsman Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Per the title, this is the opportunity for those of us seeking to learn about Ebay listings to get more knowledgeable. I'm one of those people. When I bought my first few machines off Ebay I got a box of random parts and mismatched stuff with it. Since I need more money to buy machines (Nam keeps PMing me stuff that I want), I figured it's time to sell off this crap and buy a few more machines. Item 1. I have a bag full of Key T - 007, it is a pink key, and has the matching lock. I've seen similar listings on Ebay. Since I have many of these to sell, does anyone have experience setting up an "Ebay store", type system where your listing is just kept active on a "buy it now" basis? Item 2. I have two seaga millenia that could use a re-paint (I'll probably put nail polish on them before taking pictures) that do not have coin mechs. How do I get the most out of them? (For the cost and effort of acquiring coin mechs I could acquire better machines through Nam's deals) Item 3. I have several extra candy wheels for seaga millenia, and I'd like to sell a few of them. Item 2 and 3 seem like regular auction items, while item 1, I have at least 30ish to sell, suggests it would be nice to set up my own "ebay store" -- if they don't charge a premium on that. (I thought maybe they would jsut take a cut of the sales, the way half.com does) I <3 getting educated for free on the forums
Beer980 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Sell the keys in lot's of 5 maybe. The Ebay site spells it all out on how to do it. You need to set up a Paypal account. I would not do a store set up with the few items you have. You will pay a listing fee each time you try to sell an item. If it does not sell you get a free relist only once per item.
lurtsman Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 I did find information on Ebay stores, they charge a monthly fee. That's precisely what I am not interested in at this time.
lurtsman Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 I have a paypal account already , had one for years. Good for selling currency in online games
MrEen Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I did find information on Ebay stores, they charge a monthly fee. That's precisely what I am not interested in at this time. Then may I suggest the Swap and Shop section here on this forum? I'm sure you'll want to give a very fair price to your vending family. Oh, and I think you want to wait a month or two until I'm sick of these different keys. Just a suggestion. Scott P.S. I am actually serious about wanting a bunch of key/lock pairs in the near future and will pull the trigger early if the price is decent (i.e. below what I've been seeing on eBay recently over $8 each.)
antoniocinisi Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I saw your listing on ebay and I am watching it. since dealing off ebay is cheaper, and considering how close you are to me what would you for 6 of these shipped?
lurtsman Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 The listing of 5 is already up to 22$ w/ 5$ shipping (postage is about 2 bucks). Still have several days to go. I'm trying to figure out how much these things are worth, because I had no idea when I started. I'm learning a ton about using Ebay though, and started reading about it when I have the opportunity. My locks/keys: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=280341549613 and candy wheel with brush housing http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=280342320345 The candy wheel just got listed and needs some bids, so if anyone wants to put a dollar on it to get people seeing that it is desired please feel free Once I know how much they go for on Ebay, I'll be willing to sell them off ebay for a little less

antoniocinisi Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I take that back I am the high bidder already(I forgot) so lets not be too intrested in this auction!!
JPVendCo. Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 have you tried craigslist? its simple, FREE, you dont have to ship, FREE, you deal locally, oh and its FREE. some things are ok on Ebay, but I have had pretty good luck on CL. if you live near and large city this could work out for you.
