Kweli
I understand the disdain everyone has for this machine but i have to work with what I have. My question is can you add a credit card reader to this machine? Thanks for any help you can provide.
NYCandyMaN
yes and no, some of the 137 have mdb on them, so you can probably get a payrange on there, payrange is cheap and good. and probably the best way to get a cc reader on there, or if you can get a bill acceptor with the cc reader already built in, then you can work with it, up and downstackers are similar, but are attached in different way (i may be wrong) for my 137, i have a downstacker A6 model, fits right in, its got the 9 pin connection, which can be changed to 6 pin if needed. Southeast Treats
I have seen some genesis machines which have a cashless on/off selection in their service menu, but not the older units.

AZVendor
If the coin mech has a small white 6 pin plug with 5 wires in it connected to the machine. What model number of coin mech do you have?
TMTE
I was told that you have to look at the model number info inside the top vending machine. There is a sticker or plaque and if is says GO-137 MDB then it is MDB, but if it doesn't say MDB then it is not. I am in that boat, the non-MDB machine. I am searching for a way to convert or add something to it to make it a cashless, but coming up empty so far..... if anyone has anything they can recommend.....besides throwing it away... ;) LOL. AZVendor
Again, to the clueless, 1-800-GOT-JUNK. Get a real machine and be done with imported junk.

Not worth the effort. You might be able to find a board off an MDB capable GO137 that someone has junked but I’m not sure it will work. Otherwise there is no real way to add credit cards to a machine like that, there are no aftermarket upgrade boards available.

That is, taking a GO137 MDB board and dropping it into an old 137?
AngryChris
I don't know, but probably not. If this is for a serious vending business, you should replace the machine
tblake05
Agree with Chris. with as hot as the vending machine market it right now. List that turd on Facebook and let someone else have the headache. You’ll get a premium for it. Then get yourself something newer that is cc compatible. tblake05
I've done it in other machines, but I had schematics and parts lists so I could compare both. If there is any chance you could find those, maybe I could help. Are they already MDB bill val and coin mech?

tblake05
They are not. And though I've seen some upgraded validators to replace that one in the past, its highly unlikely that your machine will ever run MDB or be credit capable. Sorry to bear the bad news.
