BV 100 note reader issue

The BV100 note reader in one of my vending machine won't accept any notes. Yet both blue arrow lights are on and not flashing. I think it has something to do with the sensors, due to it not taking in any notes at all. 

Not sure if it is a good idea to screw it open to see what's going on. Any advice would be appreciated.

Interface: MDB , I tested it on a dixie narco 276e and another combo vending machine (didn't work on either).

Unfortunately that narrows it down to a bad validator.

In addition, I don't think most of us here can help you. Not only are most of us US based, and as such primarily use MEI, Coinco, and a few Conlux, but very few of us do our own validator repairs. Typically, when one breaks, it gets sent off for a rebuild.

I'd say try looking for a manual and clean the lenses. But beyond that you are probably on your own.

If it's MDB interface, then any MDB unit will work. Find a MEI VN2502 or VN2702 with MDB harness. Any vending equipment distributor will have or can get one. As an alternative, go to Vendnet and buy a Conlux CV-1012. It's based on the MEI VN25XX platform.
