vendingpartsguy Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Hello all, Im looking at buying a Ice cream vendor, a mechanical one-looks like a frideg you open the door make your selection then close the door. Anyone have any experience with ice cream vending? thoughts/warnings/experiences? Thanks in advance Nate
G-man422 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Welcome to Vendiscuss Nate. Does this machine have actual coin mechanisms, or is it just open and pay at the checkout counter? Do you have a picture? I would say in the right location you could make a killing.
vendingpartsguy Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 Hello, Thankyou for the reply! This forum is very helpfull especially to the new people on the block. Anyways, here are some pics, the machines do have coin mechs but just are manual coin mechs (look like edina coin mechs, who are out of business as of last year but parts are still around, as i have some in my stash). I can get these for a small cash outlay, but would a brand new machine from seaga be a better choice? a lot more money to start out but?? Im thinking goin the used route and starting there. I spoke to one of my locations and they are open to having one there (a shop with 32 employees with only 6 workin in air conditioning) Im thinking hot weather and ice cream = $$$$ Thanks in advance Nathan
G-man422 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Thanks for the pics and details Nathan. Here is my take: If you are getting a real good deal on the machine(s) buy them and try it out. If the deal is not that great, wait and look for a better quality machine. I do not have first hand experience with these types of machines but other members say they are easy to "rip off" because of the mechanical mechs.
